A super story
Bought to read in EY classroom - a super addition to our Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet collection of books. Perfect for our topic 'Let's Have a Party'. The children were inspired to design and create their own balloon. Lots of opportunities to ask open questions and develop speaking and listening skills. The ending adds suspense but the children were happy to find out that it was just fireworks.

This story is great. I bought this a few months ago and is still one of many of our favourite stories ☺

A nice story with a lovely ending, but not her best
We enjoyed it, but not as much as some of Sue Hendra's other books, like the classic Supertato, Norman the Slug with a Silly Shell and my own personal favourite, No-Bot.It's a sweet tale about Gordon the balloon's life story, from balloon packet to balloon school, followed by his quest to avoid being popped by various hazards along the way.My class enjoyed the surprise ending, which was very topical when I read it to them for the first time on 4th November...As always, the illustrations are fantastic. So although it's not our favourite Sue Hendra book it's a lovely story all the same.
