Highly Recommend
Perfect as a coffee substitute. To me the flavor is pretty comparable to coffee but without the acidity. Coffee triggers severe GERD symptoms for me, but I feel perfectly fine when drinking this. Very nice on its own black or with a bit of soymilk. Will definitely order it again.

most delicious coffee-like coffee sub I have ever had
This is the most delicious, coffee-like coffee sub I have ever had, and I have had a ton of them. I love both Teeccino & Dandy Blend, but this plain chicory is something special. It tastes & smells very high quality. It has a robust complex flavor; full-bodied, rich & smooth with a lovely bitter edge. I have to avoid acidic substances, and although I haven't tested the acidity, I haven't had any negative reaction to it, meaning it's low acid from that personal evidence. It's just so coffee-like it's no wonder chicory has been used for centuries to blend with coffee. I remember my grandmother telling me they used it during the war (WW2) to stretch their coffee rations, so it would last longer. Definitely pleasantly surprised, even though I probably shouldn't be since Frontier coop always delivers the good stuff in my experience.

Great!
The seeds smell really nice, tried it and the brew was also good but kinda bitterish but with some milk and coffee mate it was great, like a latte. Much better and healthier than coffee. Unfortunately my package was was ripped on arrival probably because I had several items in one box. Most of the seeds spilled out, but I was able to get a refund for it pretty quickly so no regrets.

I've grown accustomed to the taste...I actually like it as a change from coffee and tea.
This is the best coffee substitute I've found, and it has the added benefit of inulin, a soluble fiber. Organic speaks for itself. The drink has more substance than coffee but it's not a gritty quality, more like syrupy. Sometimes I combine a tablespoon of ground coffee and a tablespoon of chicory to brew my 10 oz. cup and that comes out pretty good.

Pretty Awesome
When I read it chicory root aids in recovery(addictions), I had to buy it. But when I saw that when it's roasted it tasted a lot like coffee. That's PERFECT. I cannot drink coffee, puts me on edge and I'm a "total Karen. ORDERED, CAME FAST AND CANNOT COMPLAIN.I love this company. The amount of product.. it's just you need sufficient storage. It tastes similar to coffee w creamer & sweetner(*maple syrup).

A staple in my diet
I like this product alone as a coffee substitute, but I LOVE it mixed with roasted dandelion root. I have a friend who uses 1 tsp. of each to make his "chicory/dandelion coffee". But I find the chicory so dense and strong that I've reduced it to 1/2 tsp. per whole tsp. of roasted dandelion root - for about 10 oz. water. I'm a big enthusiast of dandelion root for it's liver- and kidney-cleansing effects, and of chicory root for it's high inulin content - good for the gut! Oh, and this roasted chicory root made it easy for me to quit drinking coffee a year ago because it gives a robustness to my cup that dandelion root alone is missing. I lived in Italy for many years and was accustomed to espresso strength and density! At times I've run out of dandelion root, and made my "coffee" with 1 full tsp. chicory root per 10 oz. water. One could even imitate espresso by using chicory only and reducing the amount of water.A little of this goes a long way! Really enriches a cup of something hot. And the quality of this organic produce seems excellent. As much as I like this root, and enjoy it as a staple in my diet, I'm a little concerned because it seems to be staining my teeth. It certainly has stained the stainless steel saucepan in which I simmer it. Trying natural tooth whitening methods like oil pulling, brushing with a baking soda brine, sometimes rinsing with a few drops of 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide in a few ounces of water. Not sure whether it's the chicory staining my enamel, or rather that my enamel has become translucent. So I'm doing a remineralizing protocol too, for general tooth health..

Tastes great
I'm working on removing coffee from my diet, thanks to GERD. I've tried a few brands of chicory and this is one of the better ones. I use a French press to brew it. I've had it hot and cold, it's good either way. It's a pretty decent substitute tastewise. Tastes a bit like dates and slightly nutty and sweet.

Do not buy it
Fast delivery. However, the drink taste and smell are far away from how have to be. Do not like it, unfortunately.(looks like fake brand) On the market many companies selling much better quality and much cheaper. Cannot recommend it.
