No need to buy the name brand version, just to get your external mic to work with an iPhone. This solution is cheaper and works like a charm. I did still have to purchase the Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter, but then I was up and running. If you're in the same boat as me, then make sure you connect the black end to the microphone and the gray end to the iPhone adaptor. The rest is a breeze.

I wanted another cable to travel with (and have a replacement in case the other one fails) and this has worked perfectly.

Purchased to have the correct adapter for my Sony Camera and it works perfectly. I enjoy the size the most, definitely worth the price.

Only passes diminished signal on one channel and no signal on other channel. I went through two of these before giving up. I can literally “A” “B” test between a known good TRS-TRRS cable and this one to confirm this one is poop.

Works like a charm!

Previously didn’t know that there’s a difference between TRS (2 lines on audio jack) and TTRS cables (3 lines) and was using a TRS with iPhone lightning adaptor for video capture. Audio was only recorded via iPhone mic instead of my rode mic connect via the TRS cable. After knowing the difference, changing to a TTRS cable really worked on my iPhone. Very happy that my rode mic worked finally!
