Hodge Silk Clarinet Swab - Blue

Hodge silk swabs are the best. I'm an elementary band teacher and woodwind doubler, and I recommend and use these swabs for all of my woodwind instruments. They pull through the entire instrument easily and don't get stuck. The easier the instruments are to clean, the more likely students will actually clean them after they play.

I have many silk clarinet swabs. This one is new, and it's the only one which has a tiny little weight at the end. It's stll a 2" or so long plastic or metal rod, but it's lighter and not as substantial as my other ones. Everything about it seems "chintzier" than all of my other silk swabs. But it basically does the job.

I ordered this because I wanted another one to match the other two blue ones I have. I have a different color for each different instrument, so I specifically ordered this because it said "Blue". It arrived today and it is not blue, but dark purple. These are great swabs and do the job for which they were intended. But, I really wanted a blue one.UPDATE: Seller took care of me and made it good. Thanks!!

I am inexperienced with the clarinet and my daughter and I went to a local music store, but they didn't have what she needed. We looked at this online and it seemed to fit the product that she described as being recommended by her music teacher. My daughter said it's exactly what she needed to clean her clarinet and she loves that it leaves no residue (as a fuzzy cloth would) and it's so compact it can be kept in her instrument case.

A very absorbent, large swab! I didn’t realize that the weight was not covered when I purchased it but no matter, I covered it with some electrical tape and problem was solved. With just a touch of my own ingenuity, I’m satisfied.
