Excellent book with beautiful photos
This large book traces the development of the major London stations from the early days up to the present time. I greatly enjoyed reading it, and especially appreciated the great photos with informative captions

Superb coverage of London stations
Striking the right balance between a coffee table book and detailed history this is highly informative. The photography is stunning even hinting at Covid-19 with masks being worn outside Fenchurch Street station.Makes you want to visit all 13! - invariably I pass through rushing to catch a train and miss all of the architectural highlights. Its particularly timely with so much improvement at London Bridge, Battersea and King’s Cross.

Informative
Great insight into the histories of London's stations. From the more well known, to names more familiar on a Monopoly board, each stations history is unique as the station itself.

A handsome book
This beautifully produced book is fascinating. I enjoyed reading potted histories of familiar - and less familiar - London rail termini: the text is very interesting. The accompanying illustrations and newly commissioned photographs are quite beautiful; the new photos are often the more striking for having been taken during "lock-down" when the normally bustling stations were almost empty.Highly recommended.

a wonderful book with stunning photographs
This was a fantastic and very interesting book. I just loved all the stunning photographs. I especially loved the older ones that were in black and white taken inside the stations showing how each railway station was used in its past. It used a multitude of different media's including advertising posters and art aswell. There was a great history of each of Londons most important stations. I really do recommend this book to everyone who loves reading about the history of railway stations or want to read about their great architecture.I learnt so much from reading this book. Its a really fascinating book that I was so engrossed in that I stayed up late to finish reading it. I am no train fanatic but I love learning about the history and architecture of great buildings across the world. I loved how it included history about damage due during the war.The books layout was wonderful with so magnificent double page pictures. The information flowed seamlessly into each other. There were plenty of facts including a list of when each station opened. I thought it was brilliant how the book incorporated references to people, movies, authors etc including our beloved Paddington Bear. It also included the next generation of travel with the new high speed trains.Only the highest of praise goes out to the author, photographer and publishers for creating this wonderful book that I am sure all who read it will love. I will definitely be looking out for more books by this amazing author.

Coffee table book.
Surprisingly heavy as it is printed on high quality paper. Too many photographs showing detail of current architectural features. Insufficient historical images and no track plans to show changes over time. Disappointing content. However, the packaging was of exceptional quality, and provided total protection from damage in transit.
