Stuck on You: The Rise & Fall - & Rise of Panini Stickers

What a fantastic book! Been meaning to get round to writing a review for a long time now, seeing the documentary on the TV recently prompted me to get my finger out.Basically if you love football stickers and want to understand how those little cards would be your obsession as a kid to collect, then look no further than getting this book.The passion Greg shows in his writing is brilliant and the book brought back many special memories of those days in the playground looking for those elusive swaps and gave a great insight in to what went on behind the scenes from Panini.5 stars from me

I'm 37 now but have yet to top the feeling of being the first boy in my little junior school to complete Mexico '86. The elation of conning my way to Guadalajara stadium followed by two victory laps of my playground is, as yet, unmatched. That tiny rectangle of concrete seemed as capacious as Wembley back then and just as glorious.But it wasn't just the heat of Mexico '86 to get an infant's blood boiling; the Panini sticker factory had us all in it's vice-like grip. Back then many an hour slipped by huddled down in corners of the school playground making nefarious promises and Brown Paper Bag deals. And for what? The St. Mirren badge of course. And who's forgetting Bruce Grobbelaar. Utterly impossible to find him anywhere!Stuck on You is a wonderfully nostalgic jaunt down a familiar road. Clearly written by someone who has experienced the joy and despair of seeing a much coveted 'NEED' disappear into someone else's pocket. I really felt the book captured the innocence and manic obsession that I certainly felt at the time. Stuck on You is a warmly engaging and thoroughly entertaining read throughout.

Having collected Panini stickers as a kid I recently got back in to the world of football stickers and cards again and Gregs book really filled me with nostalgia. It is full of facts and funny stories which really hit home for somebody who used to collect the stickers, or has any interest in them. There is SO much more to them than a bit of paper that sticks in a book... sorry, an album!I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the book to anybody who wants a good read, not just collectors or fans of a sticker!

An obsessive sticker collector as a child, I'd hoped for so much more with this book, having read people's rave reviews: I found it tedious and gave up half-way through; a huge disappointment - coming soon to a nearby charity shop!

This book is, without a doubt the perfect accompaniment for anyone who has, or still does collect football cards or stickers.Greg Landsdowne has gone into so much detail that it covers the complete history, even speaking to the people involved at the time from Panini and Merlin.Totally recommended book!
