Prime-Line N 7287 11/16 in. Solid Brass Housing and Plates w Hinged Doors Steel Ball Catch and Inner Spring, 2-1/8

I needed a new ball catch for my closet door. Over time, the ball gets worn and it jumps out of the holder. This replacement worked perfectly and was easy to install.

Grab a sharp chisel and mark the outline and recess each side to install. Practice on a scrap piece of wood to hone your skills before installing on an actual door and frame. Looks great and are easily adjustable for spring depth.

Does what its supposed to. Works effectively. Has about 1/2" adjustment to give you some wiggle room with how your door or closets set up. We have a double opening door (kitchen door style) in our place and this device sticks the door nice and snug when caught in the middle position now. Exactly its intended purpose.As a side note, this secures the door well enough that 2 out of 3 of our dogs don't push through it :)

Exactly as expected and was delivered on time

I put several of these on the interior doors of our old house. In the winter each room is warmed by a fireplace and the doors need to stay closed. The problem was sometimes as I moved through the house, w coffee in one hand and a something in the other, I couldn't turn a door knob to go into the next room. No hands left. These work. Just push w a hip, close w a foot. They were first purchased from a home store but years later couldn't find the same ones. So glad we have the ability to purchase w Amazon.

I purchased these to go with crystal door knobs I installed on our master bedroom door. The new knobs wouldn't work with the old hardware, so I bought and installed these. They work with the original strike plates, so I actually didn't use the strike plates that were included in the package. One nice feature of this door latch is the metal ball that fits into the strike plate is adjustable; that is, it is threaded as you can see in the product picture so it can provide as much tension when closed as you want. This is a nice feature as it allows for the various spaces that exist between your door and the strike plate. Good product that does what it is designed to.

Works great! Used to it replace a similiar latch that had broken. You can screw the ball catch to change how far it protrudes in order to meet the plate.

Door has lots of play when closed which is acceptable but the strike plats cut me and my clothes. 😕
