Black and decker coffee maker
Black and decker makes a great coffee maker! Had mine longer than others, still working great, every morning.

Simple and easy to use
Over the past few years, I have tried several coffee maker machines. The issue I had was the coffee was not hot. The last one was a named brand and expensive maker. The coffee came out at about 150 degrees which is not that great. This unit makes darn good coffee and it is HOT and stays hot for all twelve cups. Very simple machine, with no frills or difficult programming, just off and on. You have only a couple of choices, time delay and coffee strength, that's it, which is all one really needs. As far as quality, this unit is not built that great, a bit flimsy BUT it works well and makes good coffee. And, for the price, who can complain? Update; It is advertised as a 12 cup but it is not. I measured and the pot only holds about 10 cups. Not big deal but it is not 12 cups.

Makes a good hot cup of coffee!
I've had the B+D 12 cup Programmable Coffeemaker for a few months now. I like my coffee hot and really like that it makes a good hot cup of coffee. There is a button selection for strong coffee. I'm not a fan of really strong coffee so I didn't push the button the first time a pot was made. That was a mistake, because the coffee was super weak to me. With the strong button pressed it tastes like the strength of a Bunn coffee maker, just hotter. I make only 10 cups instead of 12 and it takes about 17 minutes to brew. I use 3 level scoops of coffee in an old Mr Coffee scoop and add a couple light shakes of a salt shaker to off set the bitter taste of Middle Tennessee's super hard water. I gave the 4 stars instead of 5 because it's hard to wipe down the inside of the coffeemaker with a paper towel after I make a pot of coffee. I put the basket and coffee pot in the dishwasher every couple weeks or so. Over all its a great coffeemaker, slow, but worth the wait. I do recommend it!

A great coffemaker for the money
My old coffee maker died after about 30 years. I researched Mr Coffee and the reviews said quality had gone downhill. So I looked at this Black and Decker unit instead. I have used this at least 50 times since I bought it so I would say that I am pretty familiar with it. Here’s my review: - it’s fine - it brews coffee quickly - it has an automatic timer and turns off if you forget and leave it on the burner - it is kind of loud, but that’s OK - when you first start using it, the basket is a bit quirky, and a couple of times I did it wrong where the coffee didn’t drain properly and I got grounds in the drink. But after a while you learn to just double check it after you put the filter paper and coffee in and you can kind of feel a “click” when you align it properly and shut the top. But it is possible to put the basket in the wrong way I know it because I did it a couple times - it has the “sneak a cup” function, meaning you can get a cup while it is still brewing. That’s cool, I use it a lot. However, a minor problem is that one drop always spills when you do it (not a lot, just one drop) because when you take the carafe off from under the basket and the connection is lost it just always drops one drop that sizzles on the burner. Not a giant deal, just a minor thing that bugs me every day a little bit So it is definitely worth the money, and works fine. Coffee tastes good, it is fast, and it has automatic shut off. Works great for me. And it is very cheap for what it does. If it dies in a couple years (which I expect), I will just go on the forums again and find another one that is best rated at the time (and cheap) or just re buy this one.

Simple and highly functional
My husband and I have gone through Keurig's, Nespresso machines and even percolators. I decided to go basic and buy a plain-old coffee maker. This has done the job! Programmable, makes lots of cups, easy to clean AND descale when needed. Plus the price can't be beat.

A daily part of my morning routine
Great coffee maker overall. Love the quality of the coffee produced. The black color looks great in my kitchen. I’ve used it for more than a year now daily and I haven’t had any functional problems with it. Produces coffee at a nice warm temperature and keeps that same temperature for quite a while with the hot plate at the bottom. Easy to set the programmable timer, although it does reset if you have a power outage at your home. It’s a little annoying having to reset it each time. Would be nice if that was hardwired into the machine so I wouldn’t have to reset it each time. It’s also relatively easy to clean when needed. Overall I highly recommend this product!

Not bad for the price, but has some flaws.
We bought this one to replace our dead coffee maker. We wanted a programmable one that would start automatically in the morning, and this one fit the bill. Overall it isn't a bad coffeemaker. It makes coffee just fine, and the programmable feature works as expected. Here are some of the pros. 1. Programmable "on" timer is easy to use and works well. 2. The clean cycle feature is very handy. You just pour in the prescribed mixture of vinegar and water, start the clean cycle, and the machine does the rest. 3. The price is right And now for the cons: 1. The "Clean" indication periodically comes up to remind you to clean the unit. This is a great feature, but it isn't executed well. The problem here is that it is not based on actual number of times coffee is brewed. It is based on the number of times the unit is turned off and on. The problem there is that we routinely turn it off and back on just before the 2 hour auto off kicks in so that we can force it to stay on longer to keep the coffee hot. This causes it to trigger the "Clean" reminder well before it is actually needed. It would be nice if it had a mechanism to detect scale build-up like Keurigs do. 2. The carafe drips very easily when pouring, especially when it is full. It is very hard not to make a mess when pouring a cup of coffee.

Meilleur achat

Good coffee machine
Replaces an old B&D coffee maker, the hot plate coating had worn off and the ring around the hot plate had cracked. Also the clock was at the top and was clouded by moisture for a long time. So to be safe, we replaced the machine. This new coffee maker is very similar except the clock is now on the base in hopes that it doesn't collect moisture. This machine doesn't produce steam around the cover while brewing like the old one which is great, however there is significant water inside the cover when opening it to remove the coffee grounds - so much water that we have to tip the cover up just slightly to let the water run down and back into the reservoir; if not, water will be all over the counter behind the machine. We are okay with dealing with the excess moisture on the cover--it was the right price for our budget, the machine isn't overly large and it's a Black & Decker. If it lasts as long as our old machine we will have gotten more than our money's worth. Gave it four stars for the excess moisture on the inside of the cover after a brew.
