Honest review on the BBK 3510 Chrome headers. I am re writing this review, now that three months have past. I am a mechanic and have put full exhaust systems on many different vehicles as well as headers from many different brands. The welds look as if they are sub par, and the chrome finish is inconsistent. I am normally a fan of BBK, however this will be my last BBK purchase.Long and short, They are not a direct fit. The bolts provided in the kit were so short that only 3 threads on each header bolt, would thread into the head, when torqued. I had to purchase longer header bolts. This was an additional $45 at the local parts store. I had to pay a Muffler shop $150 to remake where the Y pipe flange meets the collector, on both sides, as the headers did not exit in the stock location. The headers would not seal at the head either. I used BBK, Felpro, Pro-form Aluminum, then Summit Racing brand solid Copper gaskets. (Thicker gaskets each time.) They would leak in the same spot each time, at the bottom of the front cylinders and the rear of the back. Each gasket showed a tell tail sign of the leak, in the same spot. After removing these for the 4th time, over the 4th weekend in a row I was frustrated, exhausted and spent nearly $100 in gaskets alone.Eventually, I purchased 2 new, stock manifolds, and paid the muffler shop another $150 to re make the Y pipe back to the stock location. The leak finally stopped and the truck is fine. This was one expensive journey, that accomplished nothing. I hope this review helps another automotive enthusiast save time, money and aggravation. I'm not bitter, just learned an expensive lesson and sharing an honest review and my experience. This event, cost me more time and money than it was worth. My advice to anyone contemplating putting headers on there stock truck, is don't do it with these headers. I am very disappointed.

Good headers. Did not fit Y-pipe at all
Good headers. Did not fit Y-pipe at all. I have a manual transmission in my 89 F150 (M5R2 5-speed) which is probably why it didn't fit. Regardless, I figured I should mention it. The chrome plating is shoddy at best, with surface rust already starting right out of the packaging. They are good headers for the money, but I would honestly go with a plain steel pair and paint them myself or upgrade to the ceramic coated ones
