Replaced my g37s Bose system with these, amazing!
These 3 way components are incredible. Currently I'm running these in the doors, no speakers in the back(it's a coupe, no point in rears), and a 15 inch Rockford p1 subwoofer in a custom sealed enclosure (about 1.6 cu ft box). I push these with a 5 channel boss amp 3700w(lol inflated number) and they really shine all the way down to about 120 hz. I hope you like mids! These are very mid heavy so they have pretty good vocal clarity, and the tweeters shine pretty well. Now for in depth:Crossovers: very good size profile, probably about 6x5 inches. Easy to mount in doors as they provide screw mounting holes on the board. These crossovers allow a -3db pad on the tweeters which is very helpful initially as I found the tweeters too bright for my tastes. This crossover also allows you to disable the mid. Overall the parts are pretty high quality, caps look like they'll last awhile, the board is thick to prevent shorting on the back, resistors are mostly high wattage ceramic, which are great for higher power systems.Tweeters: interesting design on these. I found these too bright during break in so attenuated them, but then later decided to bring them back up. This is likely just perspective, but they seem to darken as they break in, making them less jarring. Overall seem very clean and capable of wattage.Mids 4/3.5 inch: these leave a bit to be desired and I'm considered changing them. They provide good mounting with 4 screws, but tend to break at higher wattages. These speakers will be the first to begin distorting if you're pushing to much gain into the crossover. Overall they sound decent, nothing spectacular but good vocal , snare drum, Tom, and guitar clarity for the most part. These mids seem to have a but if odd colourstion to the sound, but it's not too bad.Midwoofers 6.5 inch: these speakers are pretty wonderful. Note, you will have to provide your own high pass filter (many amps have these) somewhere between the 100 -200hz mark depending on preference. These speakers definitely fill up the bottom mid end very well, low guitar chugs and distortion, the attack of bass guitar, the attack of bass drums. If you were to remove these from the system it would lack incredible amount of depth. I don't have an amazing description of these but overall very clean coverage and connection to the mids. Note these are NOT subwoofers, and fall of rather quickly in the low end. Push connectors for wire hookup is very convenient.Overall: I definitely would buy these again, they respond to tweaking very well (especially allowing the tweeter attenuation and mid cutoff). To round these our you really do need a subwoofer if you want the low sounds, but no sound system is truly complete without a sub anyhow. I listen to alot of metal/rock/grunge and a little bit of rap on these and I think these are the best bang for buck audio I have ever heard, and far better than Bose! Sorry if any details are slightly wrong, I bought these about a year ago.
