Cuckoo Clock - The Cuckoo Birds AH 322/1 8T

I waited a long time after my clock was stolen to replace it.I wanted a genuine Black Forest cookoo clock like the one I had.I ordered this one and it is everything I wanted!It is absolutely beautiful!The craftsmanship is awesome!Is absolutely worth every cent I paid for it!

This was for my wife to remind her of the one her grandmother had growing up. Better than expected on the detail and craftsmanship. We did receive the first one and the cuckoo bird came out the first time and wouldn't go back in. Made a call and sent an email to the company, they immediately sent me another clock and paid postage to send the other one back. Great service, highly recommended clock company.

Too small for the money

When I first got it, I hung the pendulum, and, in order to get it to tick evenly, I had to mount the clock crooked. Then I realized that I could bend the pendulum wire (which I didn't want to do because it's so expensive). I opened the back and discovered that the problem was that the clock came with a bent pendulum wire, so I straightened it out and got it ticking evenly. Then it would gain 5 seconds in one hour, then, the next hour it would love 7 seconds. I couldn't tell if it was slow or fast. I didn't want to return it because it's so pretty, so I called Amazon and tried to get some help. They knew nothing about cuckoo clocks so I asked to talk to the seller but they wouldn't tell me who the seller was. Then I checked the packaging and figured out who the seller was (in Germany). I emailed them about the problem several times and they didn't know which clock it was, even though I send pictures of the outside and inside. Anyhow, they told me it was hand made so couldn't be expected to keep accurate time (it cost $395). I gave up and told them I wanted to return it. They said I had to send it to Miami. I figured out that it would cost over $100 to mail it because it's so heavy and I'm 2,000 miles away. While all of this was going on, the clock started to run more consistently and not it's pretty good. It chimed at 1:00:26, then at 4:00:25 then at 8:00:27. That's good for a cuckoo clock so after all the stress I'm happy with it.I have it mounted so the bottom leaf is 7 feet from the floor. It runs about four days between windings. The chains are 12' long, so if you mount it 12' from the floor it will run much longer (but you may have a hard time reading the time.The case is the same size as the less expensive cuckoo clocks, but the dial is significantly larger and the carved frame is also significantly larger and thicker. The carving is deep and pretty much flawless. It's way more beautiful than the bottom end clocks.If you want to regulate it instantly, get the "clock tuner" app (for android). This clock beats at 124 beats per minute.It's now May of 2020 (2.5 years later). The clock started running slowly so I took it in to get cleaned and oiled. The repairman said the movement was slightly worn so I should have brought it in evenearlier.It's now May of 2024: It's running fine, I think because I had it oiled. Cuckoo clocks don't have any jewels, so the gearshafts go through holes in the brass plates and unlubricated holes get reamed out and elongated, and the gear teeth get farther and farther apart, causing even more friction, causing the holes to get further elongated, etc. I got it oiled when it started to run slow.

The workmanship in this clock is awesome. Easy to set up and it keeps great time. When the cuckoo comes it, it just makes you smile -- love the whimsical nature of it and it goes with a broad range of decor.

This clock is awesome. Great craftmanship and rhe installation instructions were well written and easty to follow with pictures. Highly recommend

The clock has excellent craftsmanship and appearance. Overall I am very pleased with it. Initially, the clock ran slow, requiring me to adjust the pendulum numerous times. Eventually got it keeping good time. However, the screw adjusting the pendulum required so much cranking, the decorative leaf doesn't conceal the nut. If not for this minor issue, would have given five stars.

This clock has a beautiful traditional cukcoo (not with the water sounds and other birds in the background) and it had to be wound once every 7-8 days she has always wanted one since she was a little girl so this was special. It arrived earlier than expected just in time for Christmas! Easy set up and it was packaged with care.

The clock arrived quite fast considering it was sent from Germany. Very impressed with the quality. It's up a running and looking great.
