Fin del Ciclo
Con esta novela, se cierra el Ciclo de Corum, en lo personal, el segundo personaje más importante del Multiverso de Michael Moorcock. No puede dejar de mencionarse el espectacular arte de Mike Mignola, Grandeza!

Falls Apart Without Mignola
I was excited to pick up this and Vol. 4 but I felt the need to return them. Much as I love Corum, I guess at this point I can't call myself a completionist anymore. I have the first two volumes and of course the original Moorcock books.Of course it's not about the books production values. Titan does a great job on that front, paper feels good and printing is great. On the surface it looks like something I'd like on my shelf. The issue that comes in is the transition of artists, I'm not sure if it's the inking or the illustrator. I can see there is a solid artist here, but the panels are busy and the rendering is not the greatest. Again, I'm not sure if it's an issue with the pencils or the inking. The coloring is muddy as well. I'm not sure how much that has to do with what was being worked with.Contrast that with the first two volumes, where at times the rendering could be shaky but everything was depicted in a graphically pleasing way, even at it's most chaotic. Mignola still wasn't doing the work most of us are familiar with but it was on its way. Corum's cloak is a scarlet mass that has a life of it's own in every panel it's depicted. In the newer volume it's rendered into mundanity. So, if you still call yourself a completionist get these books. They aren't a waste of your money. They are well crafted and the writing is of course good. However, if you are like me and the visual component is most important (in comics it better be) then give it a miss.
