SharkskinChillproof Hood

This hood didn't work for me during scuba diving. My air bubbles would float through the sides of the hood and bubble through my mask. I ordered small, but it must run large and was too loose for my head. It also isn't long enough to stay under my wetsuit, so really defeats the purpose of getting this type of hood. Ended up being a waste of money for me.

I love SharkSkin stuff. I use the Chillproof pants, long sleeve zip, and socks with no regrets. The hood, however, just will not stay put. The chin-bit is really just a scoop for water without a strap to hold it in place.

Absolutely wonderful piece of scuba gear. Makes a huge improvement to heat efficiency when doing some deeper dives.A friend wanted to try it out as she gets cold quite easily, and even though it was a good 2/3 sizes too large she still felt it made a huge improvement.The fact that it is neutrally buoyant is just an added bonus!I have merged this with the full shark-skin suit to keep me warm!It's a little bit on the pricey side for a hood but well worth it.

This is a great lightweight hood to take chill off during multiple warm water dives. My wife also likes it to help control her hair. The length of neck is long enough so it does not untuck like the lavacore hood does. Does not feel restrictive at all. The only negative is that it doesn’t have a vent to release trapped air on top of hood, which the lavacore hood does have. I didn’t have a problem with trapped air but my wife sometimes did. Overall very happy with it.

This hood is perfect for scuba diving...keeps the head warm, manages my hair and offers a snug fit for my mask. Sizing is a bit tricky. I started out with an extra small but it was a but it sat rather high on my forehead. I bought a medium and will use it soon but it looks just a very tiny bit bigger than the extra small.

Love the material, but the face opening was too big for me.

Used for 2 different things. Followed the size chart and it fit perfect. I bought this to wear for Worlds Toughest Mudder. It was great for WTM. Took it on a dive recently and It kept my head nice and warm. Was also not as restrictive as other hoods I have worn.
