Compact, easy to use, simple to clean, makes a perfect waffle day 1.
Excellent waffle maker right out the box. Made a huge double batch of waffles as soon as I got it. Use about a cup of batter, turn it to max and let it cook for about 4-5 minutes, perfect golden brown every time. I freeze them on a cookie sheet and pack them away for a fast breakfast. Really compact so it fits in a corner of my cupboard. Exactly what I needed since my dad wouldn't part with the family waffle maker, but he did give me a copy of the family recipe.

Great but needs handle
Works great , great price. Needs a handle because of the lock, I had to use two pair of gloves. I will see about buying a pair of ovgloves.

Great Little Waffle Maker!
I recently purchased the Hamilton Beach Belgian Mini Waffle Maker and I'm quite pleased with its performance! Here are my thoughts: Pros: Compact Design: This waffle maker is perfect for small kitchens or for anyone with limited storage space. It's small enough to leave out on the counter without taking up too much room. Quick and Easy to Use: I love how fast it heats up and cooks waffles. Within minutes, I have delicious, golden-brown waffles ready to enjoy. Perfect for busy mornings! Non-Stick Surface: Cleaning is a breeze thanks to the non-stick surface. Waffles slide right off, and a quick wipe with a damp cloth is all it takes to clean it up. Versatile: Despite its size, this mini waffle maker can handle a variety of batters, from traditional to gluten-free or vegan mixes. It's versatile enough to suit different dietary preferences. Cons: Size: While perfect for one or two people, it may not be ideal for larger families since it makes only one waffle at a time. Indicator Light: The indicator light is a bit small and can be difficult to see if the waffle maker is ready. It would be helpful if it were a bit more prominent. Overall, the Hamilton Beach Belgian Mini Waffle Maker is a fantastic addition to any kitchen, especially for those who enjoy homemade waffles without the hassle of a larger appliance. Despite a couple of minor issues, it delivers great results every time. Highly recommended!

Value for money, functional and perfect waffles every time
Success! We needed to replace our 40 year old waffle iron after it died. (RIP) We wanted something that would make 2 waffles, inexpensive, small enough to fit in a cabinet and solid enough to last more than a month or two. The stand on Replacement #1 melted from the heat. Replacement #2 was more suited for making pizzelles. This was our third attempt. The waffle maker cooks perfect waffles. On medium setting, the waffles are soft on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside. The tray has a spill proof ridge. Only downside is that the plates are not removable. That is not so much of an issue because the waffles don’t stick. The plates don’t require heavy cleaning.

Exactly What I Wanted - Inexpensive, Functional, Low Profile
I've used this about 25 times now. I've used it on everything--buttermilk waffles, cornbread waffles, grilled cheese sandwiches--you name it. It has worked flawlessly on everything. It's simple, and only has one heat adjustment slider, which seems to respond well when you need to lower or raise the temperature. The shape of the waffles is my favorite part, since square waffles are the best. And it makes two big individual servings with each batch--feels like more of a complete meal than cutting a circular belgian waffle in half. And works great for sandwiches. It's surprisingly easy to clean even though the plates are not removable. I just carefully run it under hot water and let it fully dry overnight before using it again. I do recommend cleaning it very well before first use. And for your first few waffles, leave the heat slider on the lowest setting, and check on the waffles after about 2 minutes. I overcooked my first batch at 4 minutes since it was whole wheat, and they tasted plasticky since I didn't wash it as thoroughly as I needed to. And make sure you liberally use cooking spray. The nonstick surface works great along with cooking spray--no clinging whatsoever, except for the one time I forgot to use spray. The lock/latch that holds the waffle maker closed is not very strong but it does work for batters. It won't work well if you are waffling something like tater tots since it doesn't grip very tight. Be careful not to overfill--I do 1/4 cup of batter per waffle, maybe a little less. This waffle maker is inexpensive and worth every penny, small and easy to store, and has minimal settings--exactly what I wanted. Enjoy!

It’s nice and convenient. Makes good waffles
We LOVE this little thing! My husband was obsessed with eggo waffles and once he started realizing he didn’t like processed food and wanted to make homemade waffles we got this one. It’s wonderful! Easy to clean, easy to use, cooks waffles perfectly. My husband makes a couple EVERYDAY. It’s also a wonderful size for easy storage but it’s just sits on our counter due to how often it is used but it’s not in the way at all. Would be a good investment to have it even if you have an air bnb with appliances (my sister in law put one in ours) and it gets used frequently. Would definitely recommend if you want homemade waffles.

small and compact not heavy
I havent used it this waffle maker a lot but the few times I have used it has worked perfect. Its small and compact and fits perfectly in our cabinets not taking a lot of space. And it is not heavy or hard to pull in and out of the cabinets. UPDATE: Ive had and used the waffle maker now for a while. Only recently have I been using it a lot more. Since 2014 I havent used it much at all. Here are my complaints. There are not a lot of places to touch on this waffle maker that you dont burn your hand. Its very hard to open and not scold yourself. The front where the "lever" thing is, also gets hot. It might be from the steam or the heat omitting from the grill, but either way its freakishly hot. If you close it securely while making a waffle, to open it you have to push that lever. Since it gets hot its very hard to open and it gets stuck. So best thing is just dont securely close it. Overall Ive made some good waffles on this waffle maker. I dont like the thickness of them but then again this is a Belgium waffle maker. I would like to find one that has smaller thiner waffles and doesnt burn my digits while cooking. This was cheap and its small and compact. But I wouldn't buy this for a friend and I doubt I would buy it again. I feel like the design was not well thought out. Why would you create a waffle maker that you virtually have no where to touch that isn't hot? Just my two cents.

Super Cheap and Basic, But Works Great
I’ve been on a mission to make Keto or low carb waffles, chuffed and the like. But I needed a simple, inexpensive iron to test them out in. I had ordered another inexpensive single 4 inch maker, but it was going to take several weeks to arrive on back order. So I poked around on Amazon and found this little guy. It wasn’t too expensive, didn’t need a lot of bells and whistles, and has a simple slider to indicate heat preference. Plus, it makes two at a time instead of the one I was going to order originally. I’m so pleased I got this one instead. When you first get it, you are supposed to wipe down the inside and I misted a little oil onto the plates after. Regardless, the surface is non-stick, so long as you don’t scratch it or use anything abrasive. The unit just plugs and plays, so to speak. Just be careful you don’t overfill it. I did, the second time I used it, and had a fun mess to clean up after. Still, the results are great: thick, lightweight, fluffy waffles. Pictured are keto-waffles (from a premade mix I purchased, also on Amazon, best waffles ever by the way, no need for syrup). These were on the medium setting and were still soft and fluffy, but just firm enough to hold and eat without a fork. Clean up and storage is easy too. It closes and stays closed and you can set it upright in a cabinet. I got what I paid for. The overall body of the unit is metal and WILL BE HOT when plugged in. There is no on/off switch. As soon as you plug this in, it is a go. So be careful when approaching the metal body of the unit. There are indicator lights on the top letting you know it is on and preheated. The metal body was a little scuffed in spots, but I didn’t get this for looks. It is purely functional.

Pretty good!!
Love it! Works great. My kids have been asking me to make waffles, I finally decided on buying this square one. (We have an Olaf one, cute but not easy to use) Waffle turn out really well, once you get the hang of it. No issues with batter leaking from sides once I close it. Even if I fill it up with batter. You can adjust the temp (my setting stays in medium) my kids do like it a bit crunchy, just have to watch it, after a while i sort of figure out when to take the waffle out before it burns. I have no complaint so far. I find this easy to use maybe I’ll make waffles more often than rarely, since my kids prefer this than pancakes. I’ll update this if I ever had any issues. May 2023 Our waffle maker is still working just as great!. And we have been using it often.

It makes waffles that are square.
I’m not sure what “thickness” is referring to in the stars. Anyways. It’s a waffle iron, there’s not much more to say. The price was right for me. I’ve always wanted a square waffle maker so that I could put leftovers in the toaster and this one has provided me waffles that fit in my toaster. Functionally, it’s fine. The dial works like the one on a toaster. I find on the lowest setting it makes a fine waffle. I would say just under 1/3c of waffle batter per waffle (so just under 2/3 for one load) you may have to experiment... 1/3 was too much and overflowed. Which brings me to cleaning. The overflow was a bit of a pain to get off the steel... but it wasn’t the end of the world, a little scrub with a wet rag did it.

Great little waffle machine
Cooks evenly and produces crispy waffles. Huge step up compared to my friend's oster waffle maker. Light weight and fairly small footprint. Build quality could be a little sturdier though, hence the 4 stars. Overall I recommend this product, because at the end of the day it's the waffle quality that matters!
