Underated Classic, gets deserved 4K release
Last Action Hero has to be a criminally under-rated and misunderstood film. Ahead of it's time in a way, not afraid to make fun of the genre it also celebrates so well. Sadly not received well at all upon release, mainly due to the production being rushed to meet a release schedule that film company refused to budge on.It certainly doesn't show though on screen,A must watch for anyone who grew up with 80's/90's Movies, mainly due to the colourful action, but also how many references three are to pop culture of the time. Schwarzenegger shows great comic timing as he is known for, with Twins 5 years prior, helping to allow him to branch out into lighter roles. This is one of my favorite of his, especially as it is nostalgia overload for someone like me, who was roughly the age of the character Danny in the movie, teleported into a Schwarzenegger movie! I even remember the competition in the newspaper, that gave a fan the chance to meet and hang with him at the premiere! What I love about the 4K release here, is that this movie was basically made for the format, and Cinema in general. The saturated explosive colours on the screen, almost comic book style presentation, the timeless Rock/Metal soundtrack, the energetic pace from one scene, or wacky action setup to another.Sony have done a great job at restoring the print, and allowing it to not be falsely enhanced with any digital touch ups.Inky blacks, and rich full colour jumps at you in many shots. The new Dolby Atmos soundtrack, does an amazing job with the explosions, dynamic range of the music, and especially the dialogue centre channel, which sounds especially awesome with the clips having the movie narration, and the Captains awesome angry rants at Arnold.Everything sounds rich and full, and basically the presentation you could only hope such a film deserves.Fantastic release, with the nice addition of some albeit brief deleted scenes, which were thankfully left out, as they didn't seem to be needed, and would have slowed the pace. Also an alternate ending, which was cool to see, but I still prefer the original. A must for any action fan, and Schwarzenegger fan in general. A*****

An Arnie film that's gained cult status over the years. 4K picture and sound are fantastic

Another fun time with Arnie
He's back but this time as a fictional movie cop from an action film his name is Jack slatter who likes his one liners and kicking butt! A young lad called Danny bunks off school to go watch his favourite action star Jack slatter on the big screen when something magical happens the two are brought together and the adventure begins! This film looks good on 4k it's worth picking up if you're an Arnie fan or Action comedy/buddy cop fan it is an Adult and kid in this case also stars Charles Dance and Frank McRae by director John McTiernan a fun cheesey time all around I recommend this film on 4k

An Ode to 90's Action
OK. I'll start by saying I am likely a little biased when it comes to this movie. It has been one of my favourites since I was a child in the 90s with a love of action movies. No amount of critical analysis will ever get me to not love this movie. With regards to this 4K transfer, it is fantastic. The picture was sharp, but still retained a cinematic feel. Explosions looked intense and darks were deep but detailed. Slater's red t-shirt has never looked to vibrant. The Atmos soundtrack is also a treat. Slater's opening scene (while Danny is watching Slater 2 in the cinema) is glorious. Guns blaze from one directions, bullets zip past your head and you hear their eventual impact on the other side of the room. Police sirens and helicopters overhead pad out the soundscape to great effect.A great transfer of one of my all time favourite action movies. Arnie said he'd be back, and I'm glad he is!

Classic Arnold
Wonderful action adventure following, Danny live out his fantasy of meeting his screen hero Jack Slater.Arnold's most overlooked film in his back catalogue, by far! Its a fun ride from start to finish, actors chewing up their lines with great effect. Charles Dance in particuluar, leaves a lasting impression.I loved Last Action Hero as a kid and still do today. A misunderstood near masterpiece from Arnold and director John McTiernan. As for the 4K, this is a stellar disc. The highlights pop and the Atmos takes this to the next level compared to its standard blu ray release. Sony knock it out of the park with there transfers.

Big guns
Arnie did some great tongue in cheek stuff back in the day and this is at the top of the list filled with one liners. Charles Dance on top form also looks great in 4k

Last Action Hero Blu-Ray 4K Ultra HD Amaray (1 disco)
