Worth the investment
I never knew these recordings existed, but I am so grateful. Most importantly(to me), this disc presents him in both solo and band configurations. A wonderful find! If you're a fan, you probably have this one. If you Don't, what are you waiting for!!

A Great addition to any collection.
Shawn Phillips has never received the AirPlay or recognition in his native country (he was born in Texas) that he so richly deserves. He has spent most of his career playing in the UK and other parts of the world. These early BBC recordings serve as a worthy introduction to his early years and show the potential that earned him recognition from Donovan and The Beatles. Highly recommended. Great seller. Received early and as described.

Five Stars
Probably one of the most under rated artists of our time. Those who know of him, KNOW!

Terrific CD. A nice addition to any library. It's nice to hear those great songs done in that fashion and setting.I truly enjoy it.

Nice slice of live from Shawn's heyday
A nice gathering of some solo acoustic songs and full band songs from Shawn's earlier days, particularly Bright White and Furthermore era. Since there is not a lot of live recordings in his history to compare to I thought this was a great sample from that time. The full band arrangements work well (Peter Robinson is always solid). If you are a hardcore Shawn fan this is nearly essential.

When it comes to folk SHAWN PHILLIPS simply cannot be beat.
the very first SHAWN PHILLIPS disc i heard was "FACES" and it set a very high bar for the rest of his music to match...luckily for him he usually does, Second Contribution, and so many others are usually of grand Quality and are well worth owning. When it comes to this set, it is a great way to learn about the artist because it runs thru pretty much all of his various discs, some cuts from FACES, some from SECOND CONTRIBUTION and on it goes. The BBC productions are always well done so you can understand everything that Phillips is saying and doing thru the entire performance...well worth owning
