Just received these, and looking at it, the latest version seems to have addressed some complaints with the original. The cam lock is a bit sturdier and seems to have better serrated teeth. In a manual pull test, I was not able to pull the strap apart. There is now more stitching on the strap buckle, as can be seen in the item photos. Still, do NOT mistake these for heavy duty work. At most these are good for strapping ladders, luggage, or paddleboards and other lighter goods. The strap itself is made of a slick feeling nylon. I have a suspicion they will stretch/loosen when wet. So do like I do, tighten them and put a half hitch knot at the cam lock. Then, after a few miles down the road, pull over, tighten them again and re-tie the half hitch.

Bought these to strap down the cover for my side by side and they work great !! Way easier than ratchet straps. These are great highly recommended.

Received the straps. They work great and the price is right. They have a protective pad on one side so as not to damage an item you may be lashing down. I'd recommend.

I have recently purchased a trailer for my kayak and bikes. First set of lashing straps I bought didn't work well at all...buckle was hard to loosen and the straps themselves started to fray on the first use. So I bought these and they are great! Easy to release and sturdy....straps are holding up!

One set of four was purchased initially to see how well they would work to secure ~800lbs of grapes in 35 lugs(5 x 7(high)) on a wooden pallet. First I stretch wrapped the lugs on the pallet and then used two of the straps to go through the forklift openings and around the top of the load. These straps nicely fit around a load where the total distance was ~16ft. Most straps are too short for this length. I then secured the pallet base to 4 corners of my truck with ratchet straps. The JCHL lashing straps did the job nicely which prompted me to buy another set as I'm transporting 2 tons of grapes later this week. The straps I consider light-medium duty and does not substitute for applications requiring a secure ratchet strap.
