This is what makes Jack Reacher books so enjoyable to read. A different approach this time though. Reacher can kill anyone like instant coffee,
The sequences are too dramatic; the climax ends in a blink. It looked like a street fight rather than an international mafia.

A true Jack Reacher novel
In terms of thriller this is an amazing read for all the thriller seekers. The plot from start to end is well written and keeps the reader always engaged. There is no slack whatsoever. For all the Jack Reacher fans, it is a Jack Reacher novel in true sense. Hats off to Lee Child for another good thriller.

First Reacher book
First Reacher book. Obviously, I don't have the background to tell you about the consistency of Lee Child's writing compares to the 23 books that came before this one. However, being my first book, I was quite enthralled with the detail of strategy. My only (major) gripe with this book is that Jack Reacher is an all-winning strategist and executioner. I don't think he was ever in danger - just the people who were with him. And even their associated danger was marginalized because of their association to Reacher. That's a quite a refresher after seeing so many recent books and movies that favor hefty causalities on the side of the titular character. But at the same time, you can't help but feel that the sense of danger isnt all that much. But I, nevertheless, rooted for Team JR. Overall great book as an introduction into the world of Jack Reacher. The writing was great and it's quite obvious the author loves guns and describing execution moves. I will definitely be reading more books in the series including the new ones by Lee Child's brother, Andrew.

Reacher is back!
Reacher is back! The book is classic Reacher. The fans will definitely enjoy this. Don't want to give too much away but this is yet another no-name town where Reacher stands upto the local mafia. It has all the elements of him standing upto some really bad guys through a lot of creative thinking and good old Reacher-style bashing.

Awesome read!
Always a pleasure to pick up a Reacher novel. Fast paced, simple with usual explosive action and swift delivery. Staccato bursts of vivid descriptions. Well woven plot line, although a little more violent than expected. Overall a good read.

Great story with all that makes Jack Reacher great, but...
The plot is taut and engaging, and Jack Reacher is as always in the right place at the right time. My only gripe is that the fortuitous coincidences are a little too liberal here, characters are a little too matching-wavelength here, having Reacher & co walk away from two mob obliterations with zero damage. Maybe I’ve had too much of Reacher, nevertheless nothing stops me from relishing the dead, and waiting eagerly for another.

A plausible entry into the lives of two elderly people caught up with an organisation that has given them a number of deadlines to pay several thousand dollars or face serious consequences for their family. But that is how the American health system works. Apparently. To meet those frequent calls the couple are in massive debt to loan sharks. Or rather the loan shark department of one of the local gangster gang. But before they can pay the other local gang muscles in just as Jack Reacher stretches his. I lost count of how many people Reacher killed. This is the usual for his stories although it seemed more than the usual tally but as he had 4 helpers equally willing to dispatch the bad guys the story might have needed more to go around. This is an enjoyable Robin Hood type story of robbing the rich and keeping a bit back for housekeeping while giving the surplus to those impoverished in the novel. There are the frequent logical assessments of Reacher working out if he would be more likely to live or dispose of the villain. And his arithmetic!! Reacher is a character that is hard to dislike because Child creates a lot of very unlikables that he allows his hero to remove. And writes these events well in addition to a storyline that demands attention...... ....and has me waiting for the next.

As usual, I was kept on my toes, following Jack Reacher around is not for the faint of heart. Lee Child paints his characters as vividly as the hero himself, putting them and the reader in the heart of the action. Another addicting book that keeps me wanting more of the same.

The book arrived on time and in perfect condition. It was a large print version, not a problem but unexpected.
