Progressive CKC-100 One Handed Jar Lifter

The old style jar lifter inevitably would separate at the area on the handle where the angled metal entered the plastic roller. Eventually the metal part would pop out of the roller and then it needed to be re-positioned almost every time it was used. This was not only annoying, it was evident the tool was flimsy. Also, the old design did not consider user comfort while this new model does. It is definitely easier to grip.So far it is working well and the action of removing a full jar from water bath processing feels more secure than with the old version. This tool also can be used to remove the jars from simmering water while waiting to be filled. In the past, I used tongs so this reduces the number of tools needed. The jar lifter works with regular and wide mouth jars. And, the color is an attractive deep shade of red.This sturdy nylon and steel tool represents a significant design improvement.

Best lifter I have ever used.I have been canning more than 46 years and have tried all kinds of jar lifters. This is the bomb!!! I was in the middle of canning 50 pounds of beets when this arrived. Both of my other jar lifters flimsy, uncomfortable handles had broken off so I just had the frame to use to grip the jars. Besides hurting my hand, it's dangerous. I was about to replace them (yet again) when I came across this beauty. This one has a really comfortable hand grip and it grabs the jars securely. The metal is entirely covered with silicone. It is shorter than my other lifters but that does not seem the impact the performance. It seems to be sturdier than the others I have tried. So far, it has performed beautifully...5 stars. The worst thing I can say about it is that it is a little pricey. So what? SO worth it!! I will let you know if I encounter any difficulty or if it doesn't hold up. My advice? Get this one!

I have looked all over for a jar lift and was not impressed what was on the market until I found this one on Amazon. I LOVE IT. I use this for water bath canning and it makes it easy to remove jars from the hot water. If my jars are tightly packed together, it is a bit tricky to grab on to them because this lifter appears to be fatter due to the rubberized sides. However, I am able to maneuver around that. This was definitely worth the purchase.

I'm new to canning and have been doing it for a little over a year. Last year I canned about 150 jars of salsa and used silicon-coated mitts to lift the jars. While there were no accidents, there were a few close calls. After starting spaghetti sauce and facing another 100+ run of salsa, I thought "there has to be a better way" and sure enough...I ordered this and ran through a small batch of both salsa and spaghetti this weekend. These tongs made lifting wet jars from hot water a breeze with no slippage. Jar sizes ranged from 16-32oz mide-mouth Ball jars. I really wish I had discovered these 18 months ago but am glad to have them now. While I have no opinion on the internal pieces, they feel solid and the grip is good.

After reading a lot of reviews for these jar lifters, I couldn't find one that said the buyer used it on pint (jam/jelly) jars. I bought it, anyway, just in case. Well, they DO work with even the half-pint ones as long as they're the wider mouth jars and I've been able to not burn myself getting my canning items out of boiling water.

I received this product promptly and am very impressed with it. It's much easier to use than the older style jar lifters. I have medical problems that cause me to have trouble using my hands at times, but this product works well for me on those days. So far I am satisfied with it, I would buy it again and would recommend it.

I like these jar holders. I wanted to grip a full 1 qt mason jar from the side so I bent the two prongs out a bit so they would fit around the sides of the jar. they work great and still grip from the top as well. Need the change the design to handle side as well as top grip.
