Not impressed. The instruction require you to unwrap that metal strip, and use that as a nail plate against a nearby stud to keep the bottom of the metal tube flush with the ceiling that your are installing it in. No flange or anything to provide any sort of stability. Installed the two I ordered the day they arrived. You will want a second set of hands pushing up on the grille while you anchor the bracket with screws from above. Also, the other reviewer mentioning the metal spring clamps is spot on. If you aren't careful you will lose the clamps. I just tipped mine upside down in the trash box to clear insulation and one fell off. Had to dig through to find it.

product easily cracks and does not stay in place well. expectations were higher since it is a fantech product.

use for the fantech fan to ventilate the house

Looks great on the bathroom ceiling with the fan mounted in the attic

Looks fine. When you pull it out of the pipe, the spring clips come off and may go out the fan (if its turned on). I'll replace with some wire. The designer would have caught that with very little testing of his own product. Otherwise is ok.

very easy to install and good quality

SUPER quiet! Wish I replaced my downstairs bath fan too. May still try and do it because it's worth it.
