Deaf Dog: A guide for enriching your deaf dog's life

Interesting
Everyone has opinions. It is always a good thing to read other's opinions. What works for one dog may not work for another. I like this book because it gave me another view on how to do things with a deaf dog, so I am glad it was written. It really should be bought, especially if you have never had a deaf dog. Very good book

Perfect introduction to owning a deaf dog
Wonderful guide to living with a deaf dog! Very easy to read and pictures are extremely easy to follow for sign language guidance. We brought home a beagle puppy only to find out 2 months after having him that he was deaf! He has been the greatest addition to our family but wanted to educate myself through the experience of someone who has lived with a deaf dog. This book was exactly what I was looking for! A down to earth family just trying to do their best to raise a deaf dog and shared the good and bad of what worked and didn’t work. Very well written!

Very informative. Good information.
To begin, my dog is not deaf. However, a significant part of his training and communication involves hand signals. Sometimes those hand signals are sent face-to-face (like when we want the pup to sit for us to put on the traveling harness for seat belting, etc.) and some are sent across line-of-sight distances, (such as "come here, it is time to go"). I bought this book because I want my dog to be able to use a standardized set of visual signs and commands, not just ones we made up ourselves. I also like the ideas and tips presented as to how to utilize them one handed, etc. Plus, should we ever have a need for our dog to interact with a hearing impaired person, our furbaby could better behave and follow directions if those directions were given in standard American Sign Language. We're using signs anyway. Why not use the correct ones?I'm pleased with the book. I like the message and tone of the read. It is a really nice resource for dog owners and especially for deaf dogs and their "person". I recommend this book.

Fantastic, really great well balanced book
I am a dog trainer who is considering taking on a 100% deaf born puppy. I have tried other books but I was very disappointed. After reading only a few pages of her digital book I had already had new things to learn that I can apply the day my puppy comes Home. I am purchasing the book on Amazon for anyone who may watch or be a part of my new pups life.

Highly recommended
This was a very good book. I believe my almost 12 year old boxer is starting to become hard of hearing and this book had a bunch of information for me in it. More than just information about deaf dogs too. It would be a great book for anybody. I especially liked the layout and that there was an American Sign Language dictionary. I Highly recommend!
