Red Star Distiller's Yeast (DADY), 1 lb.

Started a 1 gallon carboy of mead last night. this yeast is very alive and started burping the airlock in about 4 minutes.

I used Red Star Distillers Yeast (DADY) for my distillation project, and it performed exactly as expected. The yeast fermented well, producing a good amount of alcohol. I was pleased with the results and would definitely recommend this product to others looking for a reliable distiller's yeast. Easy to use and effective - what more could you ask for?

DADYS is the beast distillers yeast, it's a whole pound which is a lot of yeast, store in fridge sealed tight in mason jar, after a year it wasn't as potent but it still came to life. They need to make smaller packets!

Yeast is not 100% lively but not totally dead. After about 3hrs i get decently good activity if i use 4 tablespoons of yeast and sugar water. So there is some nutrients with the yeast so idk i suppose that is good tbh

I use this yeast when making breads and baked goods that call for yeast. We had some on hand from one of my husband's distilling projects. One day I needed to make bread, but was out of regular dry active yeast and decided to try this brewers yeast and it worked just as good. Since then, I always buy this yeast. It gives a wonderful depth of flavor to my breads and it is far more cost effective than the name brand dry active yeast in the grocery stores.
