Great modern stovetop.
Bought one in late 1/2024 after the one I purchased several years earlier stopped working. I use this stove top almost daily for almost everything. Tonight I made Lamb chops and they came out perfect. I also have a small pied a terre oven that I rarely use because this cooktop works so well for me. This one cooks on low to 400F I usually use 175 to 225. If I get busy doing something else it automatically turns off. I have a nice ceramic cook set and all the pieces work well on this stove and after using these for months on this Nuwave the pots and pans still look like new even on the bottoms. I actually like my pied a terre kitchen more than the large kitchen in my home. It gives me more control and I get great results virtually every time. I’m planning to buy one of another of these with the built in sensor during th sale. I have 7 and 8 yr old granddaughters who help me some in my kitchen and I don’t need to worry constantly that they will burn themselves because this only heats up when a pan is on the element and it covers the burner. I just need to be careful that the heated food doesn’t cause burns. Their NYC apt has a gas stove which can be a fire hazard. I’ve seen the induction units that can work anywhere under kitchen counters and would like to see this company produce one of these.

Truly precise, controlled efficient cooking
Brilliantly precise. Efficient. Easy to understand and operate. Using a good induction cooker, such as Nuwave, reduces electricity consumption. I've proved it. Instead of waiting >5 minutes it takes most standard electric stove tops to reach desired heat, the induction cooker generates the heat desired immediately, then it turns off immediately. Unplugging anything reduces phantom electrical draws. Initially, with my first induction cooker, a Mueller RapidTherm, which I bought from Amazon in November 2023, I struggled with which cookware was inductive (magnetic). My aluminum, copper and stainless steel cookware were useless on an inductive cooktop. So I bought a no-name brand single electric cooktop from Amazon to use as a second cooker for any pot I wanted to use. Problem is, the electric cooker takes a little while to attain the desired temperature, but I could unplug it. After two years, I've decided to go with induction and a single LP stove top with the electric cooker stored nearby. I had (I tried my new Becigar induction cookware on my new Nuwave and the results were simply superb. This is my second induction plug-in. I replaced my Mueller induction cooker, because I could control the heat so that everything boiled and on the lowest setting it simmeted. Not sure what's wrong, but it showed signs indicating shortages. I was replacing my traditional stove, a white enameled metal GE electric 4-eye stove that after about 8 years after purchase, rusted and failed. Everything metal rust in my house. I pulled and tossed the stove, reworked the wiring to account for removing the traditional stove and installing a 20 amp/120 volt outlet (not recommended for DIYers) for my plug in cookers. My goal is energy cost reduction with less costly, no fuss alternatives.

Great little cooker
I have put a lot of hours on this device. It's great in tight spaces, tucks away nicely and is easy to quickly clean off. The temperature selection is fun to experiment with, and not having combustion flames is a nice function when cooking in tight spaces. Being able to choose how many watts to use is great for managing power banks in low power scenarios. Overall I can highly suggest this cooker. Definitely get one or two.

Everyday and off grid down use
Very dependable plate!!! This is my fourth one because I have given them away during weather related outages, because they can step down in power. Solar power batteries can power them! The heat level is so easy to control because the response to control requests is instant like with gas. I love cooking with my cast iron and the plate is ideal. I can go outside and fry, saute, even bake with a cast iron cover. I have one I use and one in spare. This is the only one I would gift and have. Controls are easy and clear to uuse. In my book, anything else is second rate.

Good, Affordable Unit
This is a replacement of another induction burner that I had for years. The other unit I had did not have the temperature control this one does. There was NO simmer on the old unit. This one is much better. Now it's not a gas top, but it does a far better job at simmering. I do like the ability to control the temp. better than the old unit. If boiling water, it's fast. The cooling fan might be loud for some, but it doesn't bother me. It lets me know it's "on". On thing I would like to caution, with any induction unit, UNPLUG from the outlet when not in use. The last time I used my old unit, I started smelling 'hot/burning' plastic. Glad I didn't leave the house! I checked the unit and it was just starting to smoke. The plug was hot. Yep, that was it. It was 10 years old, but it only takes once. Other than that, this induction cook top is working great, for my needs. I recommend.

An excellent investment
I'd often considered giving a try to an inductive cooktop, especially for emergency situations when my traditional burner-coil electric range couldn't be used. However, many of the devices out there had such an extensive list of conflicting reviews that it was hard to figure out what really did and didn't work. Eventually, I settled on the NuWave Flex PIC and picked it up as renewed, simply to have some real experience and to know where to go from here. Now that I've had a few days to give it a real run, here's what I've found for this little cooktop. Please note that my test settings were on Medium heat with the power limited to 900W instead of the full 1300W. * This cooktop uses around 30% to 50% of the energy needed by a traditional range (2200W burner). Example: In a real comparison test using a specified and equal portion of food under conditions of cold start to completion of cooking, the traditional range consumed 458Wh to cook while this cooktop consumed only 200Wh. * This cooktop heats up much faster than the traditional range. Example: An 8" skillet with a pat of butter goes from start to sizzle in 30 seconds on medium. The traditional range takes 5 minutes to do the same at medium. Example: A pan of soup takes roughly the same time to heat up as a microwave, but the microwave is at 100% power (1100W) and the cooktop is only set to Medium. The traditional range would take 2x-3x longer to heat the same amount of soup. * This cooktop can be set quickly and simply, but it can also be fine-adjusted for specific temperatures. The easy settings are slightly more involved than the 'turn it on' of the traditional range, but that's only because you need to remember to press 'start' after setting the heat. The efficiency of the cooktop alone is enough to make me prefer using it over a traditional range. Add the fact that it also cools down faster, takes up minimal space, it's portable, and the max current input is low enough to be handled through any 15A outlet, and it's an easy sell. However, there are a few drawbacks: * It doesn't like when you lift the pan. This is a safety feature, but it goes into alarm rather fast and you need to remember to check it and potentially turn it back on after you've lifted the pan. * Needs "Inductive-ready" cookware. Yes, some of your pots and pans might not work. Thankfully, induction-ready cookware is also readily available and isn't overly expensive. * Noise: The inductive cooktop has a fan to keep the electronics cooled. This means that it needs space around it for airflow and it's noisier than a traditional range. * Timer: I haven't personally used this cooktop for long cooking times, but you need to be aware that there is a default timer on this unit. If you want to use it for something that will take more than an hour, you'll want to reset the timer accordingly or the cooktop will shut off on you.

2 units: 1 Wobble, possible Control panel differences.
I love new wave induction cooktops. For the last decade I have worn out two units. The primary failure is the control panel. The old glossy, shiny plastic cover is extremely susceptible to heat and oils. Even keeping it immaculately clean after every cooking, the plastic cracks potentially allowing moisture into the controls. I purchased two of these over the last couple of months to replace the two I've had for the past decade that have worn out. The first one arrived probably and I was delighted to see and improved control panel with slightly raised touch areas and a pebble texture plastic. This model ends in the number 501. The second one I purchased which was supposed to be identical as a model number that ends in 503.. The trouble with the second one, the model number ending in 503, is that it has the old glossy, shiny plastic control panel cover. The 501 says up to 1300 w on the back panel the 503 says 1400 w on the back panel. I will update this review over the years as I see which control panel lasts the longest. The reason for the three-star review is that the second model does not sit flat and wobbles. Its feet are not even and I will have to replace them with aftermarket feet. It took so long to arrive that I'm hesitant to send it back for a replacement. I will just wait and see and let you know how things go. I do highly recommend these induction cooktops. Although they do wear out after a few years, they are far less expensive than most and are a great introduction to this type of cooking. I also appreciate the portability and the ability to control the wattage in this pro model. I have temporarily hooked up my home to a 50 amp RV outlet and a 30 amp RV outlet. With splitters, I only have a total of four outlets and it is wonderful to be able to control exactly how many watts I am using so I don't overload circuits.

Absolutely love this.
This is one of my best purchases. Up to now I have had to make do with a regular electric coil cooker. This has revolutionized my meal prep. It is quick, clean and very responsive to temp change. You can hear to fan inside, but it does not bother me at all. I use it with an induction burner mat (Silicone & fiberglass).

Easy to use and heats up fast
The best part about this inductive cooktop is the low to high preset buttons. It makes the cooking process easier because I don’t have to adjust the temperature from the lowest to high. It heats up the pan fairly quick and is space saving. I have been using this for more than 6 months with no issues. There are also three wattage settings which makes it energy efficient.

Works well
We have been using the Nuwave Flex Precision Induction Cooktop for 7 months, while our home is undergoing renovations. Pans heat up quickly, and temperature is easy to regulate. Cleans up nicely. Definitely pleased we purchased this cooktop, and would recommend it to friends!
