LinkTap G1S Smart Hose Timer (Requires Gateway), Weather Adaptive

I needed something to set my water sprinklers off every so often to scare the herons from feeding on my Koi in my pond as they decimate my stock every year. I found the G2S would let me set 100 schedules a day which means I can have my sprinklers go off every 20 minutes (I only set it for 3s) and I have already seen the results scaring off the herons. I have purchased 2 now so I can set them 10 mins apart so they go off every 10 minutes now for 24 hours a day every day. (Tip: using the interval mode along with eco mode means you only have to set it once)

This is my 3rd unit. I think they are great. They allow timing schedules of all sorts. I love that they receive weather info and are able to be set automatically to change irrigation amounts according to temperature changes and even skip it if so set. I have 2 or 3 other types that can only be manually set once for 72 hours and have to be manually set again after that. The only thing I did not like was that you have to remove several minuscule screws to remove the battery compartment cover. A quick release water proof compartment would be much better like I have in my other controller types.

Great product. Works exactly as advertised. I'm very happy with this. Linktap is expensive. Previous linktap lasted 3 years before malfunction. Just outside warranty!

I bought 3 of these from Amazon for £59 each and it works fantastic. Wanted to buy another but Amazon now charges £69 while the LinkTap site charges £58. Amazon, why do you do this. Its the same with a doorbell bought previously. When you go to buy again, the price jumps. Very impressed with product but Amazon should be ashamed op this exploitations. Too early for a full on review, like battery life etc, as it has only been installed for a week, but very simple to install, and for the times I have used it so far, all good.

I currently own around 6 of these devices and they're really solid compared to the horrible Orbit bhyve products that I've had to throw in the trash due to them being bricked randomly after software updates. Also unlike orbit's bhyve, these have better mechanical valves that open and close so you don't hear a loud bang with your home's pipes. The software is a bit messy and could use a bit cleaner layout but you get way more details and options than what orbit offers. Hopefully these last for years, I'll be updating my post if they don't. For now I highly recommend people skip anything orbit/bhyve and trying these instead.

Premetto che dovevo comandare 4 diversi sistemi dii irrigazione in una seconda casa i cui rubinetti sono distanziati tra loro di una trentina di metri e per ragioni di sicurezza in mia assenza avevo bisogno di avere la possibilità di avere un controllo da remoto. Prima di questi avevo preso un altro tipo di computer per irrigazione che utilizzava un hub wifi per comunicare con il mio modem e che a sua volta comunicava in Bluetooth coi rubinetti. Purtroppo l'esperienza è stata negativa probabilmente a causa della distanza dei rubinetti per cui avevo delle irrigazioni non volute o addirittura iniziate e poi non finite, per fortuna mentre ero ancora presente fisicamente e quindi ho potuto intervenire. Ho reso e ho acquistato questi e ho potuto constatare prima di tutto la qualità costruttiva e inoltre il sistema di comunicazione tra hub e rubinetti sfrutta una sua rete non bluetooth e non wifi che permette all'hub di comunicare coi rubinetti anche a una distanza di 30 mt dall'hub posto all'interno di un garage.(attraverso quindi muro portante) Unico punto negativo l'hub non è wifi e necessita di una connessione cablata alla rete(Router). Ho risolto il problema con un ripetitore di wifi con porta LAN a cui ho collegato l'hub col cavo.(Trovato in Amazon a meno di 30 €) Altro punto a favore è il SW di comando del sistema che permette di creare tutti i programmi dii irrigazione possibili e immaginabili e sopratutto, se si vuole, mandare una notifica al cellulare ogni volta che un rubinetto apre o chiude. Inoltre l'hub via internet comunica con un programma mondiale di previsione della pioggia e il SW permette se si vuole di far saltare un programma in automatico se le previsioni di 24 h prima o 24 h dopo prevedono più di x mm di pioggia. Funzionamento dopo 15 gg ineccepibile salvo un rubinetto che già appena arrivato non si connetteva all'hub.Ho potuto apprezzare così il Servizio assistenza da me contattato e con grande soddisfazione e tempestività mi è stato inviato tramite Amazon un rubinetto nuovo, pregandomi di buttar via quello non funzionante. Si sono scusati dell'inconveniente e hanno detto che effettivamente negli ultimi tempi avevano avuto qualche problema di controllo qualità. In 2 gg ho ricevuto quello nuovo e il tutto funziona egregiamente. Ditta seria e servizio efficiente. Raccomando questo Sistema.di controllo dell'irrigazione.

Hace prácticamente un año compré un puerto base (LinkTap Gateway) y cuatro temporizadores (LinkTap GS1). Durante todo el verano pasado estuve usándolos todos con resultados inmejorables. Y aunque al inicio de esta temporada uno de los temporizadores me dio un problema (sólo uno, los otros tres no), contacté con el vendedor-fabricante, a través del enlace de amazon, y me resolvió el problema prácticamente en un día. La instalación es muy sencilla. Primero conectas el puerto base a la electricidad y a internet, con cables. Y a los temporizadores les pones las pilas (no sé cuanto duran, porque las mías tras un año siguen como nuevas) y los conectas a la llave del agua, con una conexión de riego estándar. Descargas al móvil la aplicación de LinkTap (gratuita). Y desde la aplicación conectas primero el Gateway y después los temporizadores a aquel, todo con mucha facilidad porque la aplicación simplemente te pide que escanees con la cámara del móvil un código que tiene cada uno de los elementos. Puedes poner un nombre a cada temporizador (y también a cada puerto, si tienes varios), para identificarlos sin problema a la hora de configurar los riegos. Una vez que está todo instalado la programación se hace también a través de la aplicación del móvil (pueden ser varios móviles, si quieres) y es también muy simple y funciona genial. Por supuesto, cada temporizador tiene su propia programación, y tiene montones de opciones para escoger lo que prefieras, dejándola fijada por días, por semanas, por meses... a una o a varias horas distintas y durante el tiempo que decidas para cada riego. También es sencillo ir cambiándolo cada vez que quieras, o activar y desactivar el riego de forma instantánea (creo que esto también se puede hacer sin móvil, aunque no estoy segura porque eso nunca me ha interesado). En definitiva, además de ser un gran producto tiene detrás a un vendedor-fabricante que responde con total garantía y celeridad, por lo que sin ninguna duda recomiendo su compra.

After receiving the product, I only realized that I was missing an additional component, without which it is an ordinary button faucet. All the functionality I was looking for is provided by the missing gateway. I do not criticize whether it worked, but I was misled about what the package contains, how it should look like after installation.

I’ve been happy with the LinkTap G1S wireless water timer overall. It’s a convenient way to control watering without having to manually turn the hose on and off every time. Once it’s set up, scheduling is pretty easy, and it’s useful for gardens, flower beds, raised beds, or keeping certain areas watered on a regular routine. I like being able to manage it without standing outside at the faucet, especially during hotter weather when watering needs to be more consistent. The main thing to know before buying is that this requires the LinkTap gateway. If you don’t already have the gateway, this timer will not be as simple as buying a basic standalone hose timer. That’s not necessarily a problem, but it is something buyers should notice before ordering. I’d give it 5 stars. It works well, feels like a useful smart watering upgrade, and is a good option if you already have the LinkTap gateway or plan to use their system.
