Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Great reading - This is how to write a book on the Beaglebone Black. Very clear instructions and clear diagrams. Thoroughly recommend Review: Another Simon Monk book. - Sadly I find Simon Monks books make things that should be easy somewhat hard(ish) going and are often short on some of the important points that beginners will probably need. This was, to my mind, the same case with this book as it was with his two books aimed at the Arduino platform. A lot is not covered that should be even if it meant making the book larger than it is. I would also add that I didn't find using the Beaglebone Black board anywhere near as satisfying as I do with the Arduino platforms so maybe I'm just a tad biassed.

This book delivers exactly what the tittle says "getting started" into programming the BBB. An easy yet informative read, in typical Simon Monk style, simple, clear examples & information that is straight to the point. There's enough to learn the basics of Javascript, Bonescript, the board layout, I/O pins & setting up simple projects. And of course the bargain price makes it well worth it in "bang for bucks". Although I did notice a few typos eg p70 - there is no space after the function statement ie. functionledOn & again lower on the page functioflashmessage & possibly a few other instances.

Un buen libro para quienes estamos aprendiendo sobre todo de electrónica y estos componentes. Es basico, no esperen ver proyectos muy avanzados o de automatización muy compleja.

Dr. Monk writes books for the average person. What I mean by that is, his books are easy to understand and his examples are not complicated. He writes in a comfortable easy style. This book on the BeagleBone board is a good read for people in the hobby Linux community.
