Hold and strike it properly!
It’s great quality for what it is, a better than nothing option when you need it. I would not use it regularly because it is brittle but definitely happy with it over a tooth pick. You have to hold it and strike it properly per the instructions or it will break. I broke one of three and that was my fault but I still made a fire using the broken piece. Just know that it wouldn’t hold up as regular use item but it definitely beats a tooth pick any day.

So cool!!
Excellent idea and it works great, have one in every SAK I own. If you like these kinds of knife accessories, check out their other products. They're just as cool and work just as well!!

Great way to add a Ferro rod to a Swiss Army Knife.
This is a perfect way to add a Ferro rod to your Swiss army knife. Just swap out the toothpick, and you are good to go. Will only fit on the mid size or larger models (81mm +) but you want them that size for outdoors use anyway. And you will probably want a corkscrew model because you can get the fire starter kindling that fits into the corkscrew as well. Look for a Huntsman, a Trekker or similar Swiss army knife. The wood saw will make an excellent striker for these rods. Just remember that they are brittle and always strike on the narrow edges. Very reliable way to start a camp fire, with a little bit of practice.

Yep, these do in fact work.
Was kinda expecting these to be super fragile but that wasn’t the case at all. I did test them out filling the directions (I used back of saw blade) and as advertised sparks flew everywhere - I can’t see any issues easily starting a fire with these if the tinder is moderately dry. They are tight fit into the slot in the knife and I was worried I was going to break something but I pushed a bit harder and in it went.Only issue I ran into is that it wouldn’t fit into a really old Werner SAK I had, but the toothpick and tweezer slots on it are significantly different in size to what is found on more modern ones.

Works great, but had to trim them.
You have to read the instruction manual for how to strike them without breaking but if you do, you’ll be fine. Loved being able to throw one in my SAK and have the fire option. They fit great in my normal SAKa, but I had to trim the end of one of them to fit in my ranger grip SAK. Super easy to add into your SAK’s tooth pick slot.

They work
Nice add on. A bit pricy and kind of fragile. If you are a SAK fan you will probably want them even if you don't think you will need them.

This is a slick accessory for a Victorinox Swiss Army knife!
The only thing I use the toothpick on my Swiss Army knives for is cleaning wax out of my earbuds, so replacing the toothpick with this tiny ferro rod was no loss.I carry two models of Victorinox knives, the Compact for every day carry and a large lock-blade Outrider in my pack when I'm in the woods. I swapped out the toothpicks for the Firefly ferro rod in both knives. And the ferro rod works great in spite of being so small. I put the rod against my tinder (dryer lint) and draw it back through the wirestripper on the bottle opener/screwdriver blade. It has thrown enough spark to light the tinder on the first try every time. The rod is small so it's not practical for continual use, but as a backup it can't be beat.

Will Not Fit and breaks
Absolutely useless, DOES NOT FIT AND WILL GET STUCK.This “firestarter “ will not fit because they got the dimensions wrong. Too thick and to weak. Totally missed the quality control ( if they even have it).Broke on the first try.DO NOT BUY
