MW Polar Herring, Smoked in Canola Oil, 6.7-Ounce

These smoked herring are my favorite snack or quick meal. They are packed with care and typically contain two fish filets that have been spread apart to grilled and smoked. They are high in protein and omega3's and really great if you are on a low carb or no carb diet because they are very satisfying and have a delicious authentic smoke flavor. The one thing I would prefer is if they were packed in olive oil instead. I am not a fish lover normally but there is something about the smoke flavor that makes me love these canned herring.

Amazing value, taste.

Ordered ten cans twice. Second time one can broke open at the seam during shipping and leaked on other items ordered and soaked through the cardboard box. Amazon doesn't care much about the packing I guess. The cans were loose and banging around in the shipping box. I got in a customer-service chat, and the cust service rep seemed to deplore how carelessly the product had been packed and gave me a $2.5 refund. But I doubt whether they are going to pack it any better in the future. So probably order it separate from anything you don't want stained with smelly fishy rapeseed oil.Good flavor, but saltier than I would like ... but maybe that is necessary. I certainly wouldn't eat the oil--and there is a lot of it--that it's packed in. Study up about toxins in rapeseed oil and canola oil that can mess with your thyroid and other systems. Olive oil would raise the price a lot, but soybean oil wouldn't and doesn't have as much toxins and would be edible in case you need the calories. Drain off the oil.

Nice option for a smoky flavor when you want it. Not the best canned fish but far from the worst. occasionally I crave this more smoky flavored treat over a traditional sardine. Good boneless option for canned fish beginners as well. cannot go wrong with these at their usual price point.

Very nice fillets of herring with a nice smoky flavor. No bones ! A good deal from amazon IMO ! I flake the fish into a rice or macaroni dish usually. One can serves 2 meals this way - very economical !

I really don't want to tell you this.... I don't want Amazon to run out!These are the same as Rugenfisch at a much better price!Same can produced on the same line, just a different label!In my opinion, these are the best smoked herring on the market.The portion is large, the flavor awesome!Try draining them and putting them in the refrigerator to cool.It really brings out the flavor!I buy cases of sardines, tuna, squid in ink sauce and these multiple times a year.Free prime delivery! These are large pieces, but the herring taste and flavor is dull with mostly the smoke coming through.
