"One Thousand Gifts" is one of the most moving, inspiring books I have read in a while. If you've walked through anything hard in your life (who hasn't?) I would strongly encourage you to pick up this book. The author has a unique style of writing that took a moment to connect with, but once I did, I was highlighting, underlining, and making notes almost more than I was reading, ha! I got a gratitude journal to put this book into practice, and it makes a difference. The truth in Ann's writing is life-changing; please see for yourself.

I’ll be honest; I’ve heard about this book from several sources but for whatever reason, never bought it. It’s a well-known Christian book, and based on the little I heard, I thought it would be a cute “Christianese” book, something that would be very surface and cliche. I can tell you now, I was wrong. First chapter in, you are being confronted some of life’s deepest issues, and it is not light. Yet it was very helpful for me, especially with this last year being one of the most difficult. This book helps you see gratitude and it’s value like never before - along with countless other valuable takeaways. Highly recommend to those who genuinely wish to grow spiritually and emotionally. I would also recommend getting a notebook for this one.

I ordered this for my grown daughter. I have this book and read it in a Bible study about 4 years ago and all the ladies loved it.

This is an inspirational book that is written in a unique, poetic, and even somewhat sophisticated style. Most importantly, it encouraged me to look for the small blessings daily.

Truth. Recommended by a friend. But, upon first starting the book, I had to put it down within minutes. The writing seemed disjunct, difficult to process the style. At first, I thought I had wasted my money. BUT … after several attempts over many days, my brain became familiar with the writing style and I took my pen in hand to underline the amazing passages … the use of alliteration, memorable metaphors! What observation skills, depth of detail, and the ability to write about it! One of my favorite books. I have read it twice and it is kept on my couch to continue yet again … still underlining even more wondrous passages. I have bought this book for four of my friends. Will buy more to share with others. A must-read. “Eucharisteo” = the perfect way to approach each day and this life.

i have already read this book a number of years ago. It is life changing. It helped me look for the little and big things, gifts that we see everyday...or overlook. Clouds, flowers, birds on the wing, sunshine and shadows, the skyline. It changed my outlook and filled me with gratitude. These are God's gifts in abundance......I ordered several copies for close friends. The first batch came very fast; The second time I ordered was also very satisfactory.

I haven't finished it yet as it's not something you can speed through, but what I have read is very well written and encouraging. Anyone who is looking for a mind reset needs this book.

I am always impressed with Ann's writing and this book is no exception. Such a thought-provoking read and if practiced should change each of our lives. It is so good to hear of her honesty with her own family and makes me think I am more normal than I thought! Highly recommend this book if you want to find more joy in your life. Helps to remind us all to look for the good in each day!
