Garam Masala Great Blend
Without exaggeration, it's the most delicious garam masala mix I have ever experienced. As soon as I open the package, you encounter an impressive fresh scent. The product is very fresh. The spice mixture in the Garam masala powder mix is set at the perfect ratio. For now, I've used it when making butter-chicken.

Lovely flavour profile
Have cooked with it twice, and love the flavour profile it adds to the sauces I make. It is great b/c I am allergic to tumeric, and this does not have any but adds an authentic Indian flavour that I am impressed with.

Doesn't Come In The Jar Indicated In The Primary Image
Review of Garam Masala Powder, Indispensable Seasoning for Many Indian Cooking, Perfect Mix of 11 Authentic Indian Spices for Indian Cuisine sold by World FlavoursReceived with a Best By date approximately 22 months from date of receipt.Overall very flavorful but please also note that the preferred ingredients and the ratios for these ingredients vary widely not only based upon geography but even within localities and individual families. The clove and cinnamon really came through but the blend was not at all hot in my opinion and I have a lower than average tolerance for hot foods. The great disappointment and this is reflected in my rating is that the primary images show a jar. Instead this came in a heavy duty zip lock bag cut in the shape of the jar shown in the primary images. The bag uses a white background so that it blends into whatever might be a non-contrasting backdrop.

Fresh, fragrant, flavorful and great gram masala blend.
Gram masala is a spice blend that's not a formula, but a blend of warming spices that vary from maker to maker. Some are spicy, but this version is mild and warm. This blend contains the usual cumin, coriander, black pepper, cloves, and cinnamon, but other herbs and spices that make it a unique blend of warming spices. There is no apparent listing of what the "other herbs and spices" might be, so there might be some concerns for allergy sufferers. I suggest the vendor list all of the ingredients either on the package, the product page or both.Packed in a unique resealable pouch that looks like a glass jar. This holds the six ounces of garam masala in a smaller space than other containers. The resealable top helps keep the blend fresh. Be sure to expel as much air as possible when resealing the pouch to preserve freshness.A nice recipe for garam masala chicken is printed on the pack -- it would be nice if there was a QR code for other recipes and product information on the package and product page.Makes a great pot of spiced lentils or chickpeas -- the flavor is not spicy, but warming.A large "best before" date of almost two years is printed on the package.Well priced at about $8 at the time of our review, we like this garam masala blend, will be repeat customers, and recommend it.

No jar. A bit coarse. Not organic
-Comes in a plastic packet with a picture of a jar on it. (Does not come in a jar)-Best use date is 20 months from now.-It's a bit coarse.-Not quite the ratio I'm familiar with, a bit heavy on the cumin. But you can adjust this yourself, according to your own preferences.-It has no sugar, you need to sweeten yourself if your recipe calls for it. I like this quite a bit, I don't like it when brands add sugar. So many recipes don't require sugar, I prefer stevia, and also a lot of brands add too much sugar. So they did the right thing there.-None of the ingredients here are organic. I typically only buy organic items. But at this price you shouldn't expect organic, this is a very reasonable price for 6 ounces.

An Excellent Commercial Blend
As every Indian cook knows (as do those of us who, while not of Indian ethnicity, often prepare Indian meals), garam masala is an aromatic blend of ground spices used in Indian, Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi and other South Asian cuisines. “Garam गरम” means “hot” and “masala मसाला” means “a mixture of ground spices.” “Hot” here refers to traditional “warm” spices, not to chile heat that some people may want to avoid, for some incomprehensible reason. There’s no single garam masala recipe. Every region, every town, every house, even every cook within each house, has a unique version. We usually make our own using any of several different recipes, but then we modify the ingredients such that we rarely have two batches that are exactly the same. We’ve never bought commercial garam masala because it’s easy to make from scratch, and we’ve been disappointed with other packaged Indian spice mixes that we’ve tried in the past. With that said, this VeryPack Garam Masala, a mixture of 11 high-quality roasted spices, is the real deal. When I gave it the ol’ sniff test, it was indistinguishable from our homemade Fragrant Spice Garam Masala. I wouldn’t have been able to tell them apart if I hadn’t known which was which. That’s high praise, because we’re very particular (some might say “obsessive”) about our cooking ingredients. Also, to its credit, this product is salt-free, as is our own; properly prepared Indian foods have enough spices in them that they do NOT need salt to taste delicious.I usually rate commodities and basic pantry staples with a middle-of-the-road three stars unless they’re truly exceptional. This garam masala is as good as our made-from-scratch version, so I rate it at five enthusiastic stars.
