Good quality product, but check the sizing
As another reviewer has said, the description on this product isn't great. The width is about 8.2cm, I think, as per the description. But what isn't completely clear is the depth / plug type. I think this one is for more modern sinks, though I could be wrong. I ordered one of these, in any case, but it did not fit our sink because, despite being the right diameter, it was too shallow. What I eventually found out was that I needed a "basket" type of plug, which Franke also sell and is available on Amazon, which is much deeper than this one. I don't know whether this is because of the age of our sink, which I think is really quite old, or just a different type of sink. Anyway, the product is good, no complaints, I'd just recommend that you check the depth of the plug you're looking for before ordering as I had to return this one and re-order the deeper version.

Elegant form but at the expense of some function
This is a well-made product and a great fit in my basic Franke (2016) stainless steel sink. The strainer plug allows the water through and catches the food debris well. The look is distinctive too with the Franke logo and large centrepiece which is slightly lipped to enable you to grip it to remove. However, although this looks and elegant solution it isn't as good as the much smaller grips on most sink strainers. The larger "hub" grip means sometimes your fingers will be in the collected debris and there isn't as much capacity for waste as in cheaper versions with thinner type handles. Overall, well made and stylish looking but it loses one star for its slightly lower level of convenience.

Perfect replacement for Franke sink.
This Franke strainer / plug works perfectly and fits perfectly. Bought as the original had started to perish and the sink was draining despite the plug being in. Searched a lot of sites but hard to find this specific make and dimension. Didn’t want to spend on cheaper, different brands in case didn’t fit. Also thought about buying the rubber part only but to be honest I don’t know how they’re come apart / attach, if any adhesive needed which I don’t have. So after a good few hours looking at options I bought this, delivered next day through prime. Was in the sink within 2 mins of delivery and fitted / worked perfectly. So why only 4 stars? Because of the price. I couldn’t find it cheaper elsewhere but still, £20 for a blooming plug in the sink, a 3.5 inch bit of steel and rubber can’t get 5 stars in my view. But would I buy this again. Yes! :-)

Heinously overpriced, but when you need 'em ...
I don't mind the low-profile design, unlike some other reviewers, though I suppose it depends on how much crap you chunk into the sink that it would need to fill up the drain area, rather than, you know, emptying as much waste food into the bin first, but the ball-method for holding the Sink Plumbing Accessory in place in plug and drain positions is pretty flawed, at least in the original iteration. Now, this replacemement is slightly different, so I do wonder if there's a design change to overcome that flaw. In the original plugs I got with the sink, the little metal ball eventually fell out. This version has a shorter stem, and the ball construction looks slightly different. I can't speak for how well it holds up over time. The two originals lasted, with perhaps a bit too much bin-tapping to clear the crud, 3 and 4 years respectively. Either way, at nearly £17 a pop, that's £34 to replace the pair. That's a gouging price. (FWIW I did try to order a cheaper clone originally, but nothing ever showed up). So I won't be tapping these on the side of the bin anymore to shake stuff off...
