What does Rigati mean? What's the difference between this one and the regualr Spaghetti?

Spaghetti Rigatti means long spaghetti noodles with ridges. The cross-section of the long noodle has an "x" shape with deep grooves, rather than just being a small circle like regular spaghetti. It cooks/serves/eats like regular spaghetti, but because of the ridged surface, it has almost twice the surface area of regular noodles. This makes a really nice difference in texture, but the real magic is that it's less splattery/less messy when eaten. The striated surface and greater total surface area makes sauces cling a little better, and produces stellar results with recipes like Cacio e pepe or anything with an olive oil base. Such a tiny difference, but such a more tasty and pleasant experience. Totally worth it, this is by far my favorite pasta.

In store, most packages were not vegan (had egg) or were produced in a facility that uses eggs. Can anyone see anything like that on the package?

Hello, The package states that "This product is manufactured on equipment that processes products containing eggs." No egg product in the product ingredients however.

What is the expiration?

The shelf life of each product varies, so be sure to check the "Best If Used By" date on each package. It'll give you the best estimate.

Based on the reviews, it is unclear whether this is actually the thick spaghetti as pictured or possibly a different variety. Can you please confirm?

Most of the reviews are about angle hair or non-disclosed pasta. I want a review specific to the thick sketti.
