What is the maximum length this extends to? I have seen it advertised on other sites at 75” max.

Will this work with the Subaru forester outback?

I say it probably would, it is adjustable, and if it would not work, then you can just send it back. Very good load bar. I use it in my semi truck for a hanger to hang. My clothes up works excellent for me.

Is there a place to add a lock, to lock it in place?

If I cut the outer pipe , can I make the unit shorter
