Excellent Cables
These are an excellent cable set. you have to know what your doing and plan the install accordingly.First there is a long and short brake wire. Don't put the long wire in the front brake and cut then complain the other one is not long enough. There is more than enough brake housing provided UNLESS you are running full length housing. If full length runs, buy the XL kit.Second, the derailleur housing has ferrules on both ends. It is intended to be cut into three pieces; the front derailleur, front section of the rear derailleur and the rear section of the rear derailleur. Measure the front derailleur first, cut then work from the other end for the front section of the rear derailleur. You should have the front derailleur with an attached ferrule, the front section of the rear derailleur with an attached ferrule, and a section with no ferrules. The section with no ferrules you cut for the rear section of the rear derailleur. The documentation and directions with this set is terrible. You will have a bunch of different shaped ferrules and no clue where to use them. You have lined, unlined, gold, POP and ones attached to housings. If you don't know what goes where, look up the installation video on youtube. Make notes as you watch. As a side note, the brake housing is much stiffer than normal so plan your installation wisely.I knocked one star off because the documentation is so bad. This is designed to be a do it your self kit. Unless you have used this product before you will be scratching your head a bit. Go to the youtube video and save time and confusion.

These are great cables. I already had Jagwire cables on my road bikes, but purchased this because I wanted to change them to a different color. I can say these cables give a much smoother and firmer braking feel. I cant really tell any difference in the shifting. These cables flex a lot less during braking than your average run of the mill cable housings. Which is probably why the braking feels a lot firmer. A lot of people complaining that the cables are to short for their bike. For the most part. The fault isnt with the product or manufacturer. The fault is with people ordering a product with out doing their research first. These kits come in standard and XL lengths. If you have a fairly large frame bike or internal cable routing on your bike then you should be buying the XL. Ive used the standard cables on my 53cm Fuji Altamira which is actually a 56cm frame. Fuji just sizes the Altamira all weird and Ive used these on my 56 cm Specialized Tarmac. The cables were plenty long enough. I dont really put these on my bikes for the performance. I put them on my bikes because the wide selection of colors. Just adds a little personal touch to my bike. The instructions that come with the cables are not very good. The best thing to do is to watch Jagwire video on youtube. The cables are actually very easy to install. These cables with the Jagwire housing cutters and the youtube video and anyone can install these cables.

Best cable rebuild kit
About every ten years, it is probably a good idea to replace your cable pulls on any bike with shifters or brake cables. I ordered the Jagwire Road Pro to replace the cable on my Felt road bike of about 10-12 years old. This Jagwire complete set had everything you need to replace all of the cables on your bike. I would recommend a Parktool cable cutter and crimper but you could probably get by with some regular shop tools. The cable housings in this kit are made so that only one end will need ends crimped onto the housing. This Jagwire is amazingly smooth in function. I really did not realize how much drag I had on my cables until I installed this set. The main cable has a teflon type coating that slides through the sheath like silk. The sheath appears to be a braided steel instead of the coil steel that my older cables utilized. This cable is far more advanced than the old cables. My favorite thing about this set is that they give you ends that fit perfectly into their holders and have tails that allow the wire to get all the way through the holder.I can not think of anything that could improve this set for rebuilding your cables. Everything needed is in this kit. Quick tip. Make sure to realize the housing for the brake lines and shift lines are different in size. These are marked on the cables. I did not receive any discounts or free products for providing my review.

Slick and quiet shifting.
Upgraded my road bike's shift/brake cables. This is the 3rd set of Jagwire I've purchased. 2 for my Cannondale (blue cables) and 1 for my Giant (orange). Has plenty of spare parts to fit almost any bike with external cables.Keep the left over spare parts and cable sleeves for minor repairs should you have any. Will continue to purchase Jagwire as I've had years of excellent service from them. Warranty is also great. Had no issues on a claim; which happened to be from a lack of ferrules in one kit. Probably a QC issue but they were super kind and sent over a few extra when I only neede one.

Much Better than Campy
I cannot say enough good about this brake/shift cable set. When I set up my Bob Jackson frameset 3 years ago, I went with an all Campy Chorus drivetrain and thought I would also get the Campy cable sets, even though they only came in black or white. When I checked on them this year during a stem-to-stern overhaul, I noticed rust in the brake casings... I've never seen that before and it was surprising considering that my l'Enfer du Norde days are well behind me.I had just used a lower quality version of Jagwire cables and casings on a 1986 Casati restoration and was really impressed... I used the lower cost version because it was in keeping with what you would have found on a racing bicycle from the 1980's. I decided to get this blinged-out set for the Bob Jackson frameset. Set comes complete with everything you need. I especially like the metal reinforcements on the brake cable casings where they come out from under the handlebar tape. You should have plenty of casing left over, in the event you 'measured once' and find you have to cut twice.

First time re-cable
I used this kit to recable my bike during a 9 to 10 speed upgrade (Shimano Sora to Ultegra). The instructions are fairly clear for the novice and the quality of the parts is excellent.Installed last night and tested this morning on a quick 20 mile blast the bike performs superbly - I was a little worried that the shifting and braking would suffer due to the under bar tape routing but shifting is slick and precise, braking power and modulation is much better than before on the same brakes. To address the concerns previous buyers have had regarding the double ended cables, if you use quality wire cutters you will have no problems at end threading the cut end through the STIs or the cable ferrules - I used a pair of Draper wire cutters and the cut cable ends remained perfectly circular and threadable.Highly recommended.

Excellent quality look and function - NOT suitable for non aero
As is typical of Jagwire this cable looks superb and is of exceptional construction featuring all you'll need for fitting to modern STI type Aero brakes. All bits ferrules included. The action is smooth as silk and the construction is premium. These seriously look good - and function superbly. Now why 3 stars? If I had a bike with STI aero levers thee would get 4 stars - why? Because the instructions aren't very good. They're vague and long winded and not well illustrated. Now I had to knock another star off as these are NOT suitable for classic road bikes with non aero levers. The cable simply is not long enough to go from the lever across the top tube to the rear brake. So avoid if you have such a bike.

Better then standard, just a little short
Cables are a little short if the bike has the runs though the frame. My bike is a Whyte and the cable runs through the frame as full runs not just the cable. I was able to keep the trims short on the gear cables that there was just enough to make both runs however there isnt enough to both brake cables. In saying that the cables are smooth as silk compared to the shimano ones that were installed, and gear shifts are a delight. The finishing and sealed ends should help against water ingress. The caps are all seperately packaged so no chance on mixing them up.

Great product - just too little of it
Great looking cables and seem well made. I've not fitted them yet because I have a TT bike with internal cable routing and the amount of cable and housing is only enough for one brake and one gear shifter. Which means I now have to pay about £30+ to get another matching set. A bit disappointed with the amount you get... really only suitable for bikes with classic, external routing where the housing only runs for short sections.

Works perfectly with my Shimano Ultegra groupset.
I like JagWire cable kits. The cables, housings and ferrules are all of very high quality. The pop connectors especially seem to work much better than the standard Shimano ferrules.I'd highly recommend this kit. I used it for my Shimano Ultegra groupset and it works very well.I have internal routing for my cables and these don't fray when I'm feeding them through.
