I purchased these as replacement wheels for the vintage office chair I reupholstered and spruced up. The original hard rubber wheels were in great shape, but the hard rubber was loud on the floor as the chair rolled. And I also knew from experience that hard rubber and plastic type wheels would eventually damage my wood floor unless I used a plastic chair mat underneath (yuck). I was initially worried that these might not fit, but they fit perfectly! And the installation took less than 5 minutes, using no tools. Just pull off the old wheel and insert the new one.These are so quiet and smooth, and they are much easier to roll over floor transitions and on carpeted floors (I tested this out by rolling the chair into another room). The chrome plating matches the chrome on my vintage chair base, and the wheels are just like the ones I used to have on my Rollerblades, which feels pretty fun and modern to me. I think these are so much nicer looking than any of the other wheels online or sold in hardware and office supply stores.. These are sold as a set of 5, but my chair only uses 4 wheels, so I’m saving the extra wheel in the unlikely event that one wheel stops working. These are really great wheels, and they make me look forward to using my chair!

Installing these is super easy. Brand new chair and removing the wheels took more effort than it should have. Putting these in was a perfect fit and they went in like they should. A bit of a tug and they were in enough to not come out and that's all you need.I wheeled the chair into the other room and not gonna lie, I didn't hear a thing. I held my opinion until I got my weight on the chair. I rolled around a bit and I'll say if you're trying to hear it then you can, but other than that it's as close to silent as you're going to get.I've heard some people talk about this type of wheel sticking. I have to say that as far back as I can remember chairs with wheels have always stuck at some point. You give a little more effort and when the wheels turn a little it kinda breaks free, yeah? These wheel don't stick. Smooth like butter. I wanted no noise and I got it, but I also got a silky smooth rolling chair. I'm impressed. I honestly don't expect to be happy anymore these day. It was a little bit of a pain to get one of my old wheels off. But that's when I notice there was one bad wheel on my chair. I always hated that when you want to roll you chair it would stick and then you have to move it sideways and then the way you want it to go...... I hated that. No more 2 wheels on a spoke, one wheel one each spoke and never get stuck. I got this for 3 reasons 1 - it was chrome and matched the under carriage 2 - it has a bridge/rim above the wheel and don't have to worry about your shoe getting caught in the wheel 3 - they are roller blades and super quiet, plus added bonus they are great on carpet and wood floors (no scuffs, rips or marks to worry about).

Chose these specifically after taking some measurements and seeing that the more popular options would add too much height, enough that my chair wouldn’t fit under my desk even at its lowest setting. We have an office chair from staples with the double plastic casters and these wheels only added a little less than an inch.Pleasantly surprised at the thickness of the metal body, bearings and wheel rubber. The wheels gripped the floor a little when changing direction initially but after a few days they loosened up. The chair is dead silent now too. Perple should know that this is a solid product.Ill try to remember to update after a few months as the old wheels removed the finish on the floor, hopefully these do better.UPDATE: Nov 23 - After 9 months in my chairs new location, these have left no marks or wear on my hardwood floor.

Made a world of difference from the default wheels. A huge improvement - at first.Worked like a charm for the first six months, then the sealed bearings began to fail one wheel at a time.By month seven the bearings on two of the five wheels gave out - no longer gliding smoothly & effortlessly, but now rolling rough & noisy. Sealed mechanical bearings really should last for years.Also, there's a minor design flaw in the wheel covers that have the wheel covers occasionally hitting your heels in a sharp manner, but I overlooked that because of the smooth rolling factor.I considered buying another set of wheels from someone else, thinking I was yet just one more victim of the river of cheap Chinese product quality we're all forced to live with nowadays.But then I noticed that the seller offered a 'lifetime garrentee', so after a few emails explaining the issue they did actually send me a replacement set, which arrived only days after I was told they would send it.Im in LA area and I guess that they have someone nearby since it came so quickly. I swapped out the bad wheels and I was back to 'glide mode' again. I have to say this was solid customer service, so I'm giving the seller high marks despite the wheels going wonky.

For my application, these are PERFECT! I have them on an original Herman Miller Aeron chair. My chair is on a short pile carpet, and have tried both with and without a chair mat. For me, these wheels are perfect for either hardwood or the bare low pile carpet. They are smooth both in gliding and direction change. You can really fly on hardwood if you want, but dont HAVE to. I have had some wheels in the past that you had no choice but to be a racecar driver in a chair they were almost TOO fast. Not these. And although 2.8" vs 3" doesnt sound like much, I like the looks and feel of the ever so slightly smaller wheel. I am pretty sure a 2.5" would be too small/short on an Aeron chair.The only possible downside I could see is that they do NOT work so well with a chair mat on carpet. (one single thin wheel versus 2 wide wheels cuts down too sharp), but personally, the reason I see getting these IS to avoid or get rid of a chair mat, so I can't take away from the rating for that.

Perfect casters! The silver colour complements the silver base. Fantastic smooth swivel. Glides perfectly over flat flooring. There is also easy access to the ball bearings enabling me to grease the bearings in 3-4 years time when required. (This is generally required of any ball bearing)My only wish is that there was a little bigger wheel size to make it just that tiny bit easier to glide over carpet.Great product, would definitely buy again! Do you guys sell expandable stem castors for a stem 500mm?
