Excellent training and owner-dog toy
Have several and used for more than a year. I use them outdoors, in all kinds of weather, to train and play fetch with my German Shepherd. Yes, the rope will wear out and yes, chunks can be chewed off the ball. However, this is not a chew toy. It’s a toy for you and your dog to play with. When the rope gets chewed through, buy some from Walmart and replace it—not a big deal. The rope lets you throw the ball much further than normal and is a helpful tool to get the ball back from your dog. Much more pleasant than handling a slobber covered ball! I’ve only had to replace them when my throws went askew into bushes, rolled into a storm drain, or were swallowed by the woods.

Best toy ever.
My puppy can play with it for hours!

Ok
Good ball to work with. Not to play with. If you leave the ball with the dog unattended the durability and longevity will be shorter, not chew proof, nothing really is. It is intended to be used as a temporary prize when in training. The rope could be longer.

Best throw toy ever for our chew-master lab
Durable and heavy enough to throw the ball a long distance.

Our favorite tug and the one we will stick to from here on out
I have purchased a few ball tugs and this one is the most durable. My 65 lb bully mix can get a little chew time in on the ball, play a hardcore game of tug, and hasn't managed to tear out the string or damage the ball. Both of those features make it a win. On top of that, the string is fairly durable, so with the occasional scissoring of the string in his teeth he hasn't managed to wear through it yet in the month or so we have had this. I am sure eventually he will tear through the string but when this is your daily tug you accept that that may get accidentally damaged over time. I am really pleased and will just re-order this one in the future, not need to look for better ones from here on out. Getting the texture right for the dog is also a challenge and this one has just the right amount of give to it. It's a win.

Great toy concept but needs work with the type of rope
Great durable ball. Its semi soft but not soft enough for chunks to be carved out with heavy chewers. The only complaint I have is the rope. The rope isnt durable and is easily frayed at the ends, like my 7 pound rat terrier u did the knot and frzyed the ends in less than 30 min supervised. Once frayed there is no way to reseal it with heat or retying it. Other than that its a great idea it just needs refinement. Better the Kong version of this type of toy. Kong has the rope part down but their ball is easily destroyed and the ball and rope can be pulled appart easily. Bottom line this toy is a great idea but needs some tweaking.

Trashed is 20 minutes
My 4 month old lab puppy had the string chewed though in about 20 minutes. He loves to play tug of war and I thought this might be a good choice. After 20 minutes of solo play/chewing the rope portion is useless. The ball however looks to be indestructible so it is not a total loss. Disappointed.

Good
Good product, all these people giving it a low score because of the dog chewing through the rope is not the products fault, if your dog is chewing the rope you aren't using it right, teach your dog not to chew the rope and chew the ball instead - DUH.Good strong product, not 100% convinced its a good quality dog friendly rubber, it looks like a combination of different rubbers melted together. Almost like a recycled product. That aside it does its job and is gsd proof.

Warning - this doesn’t float!
I bought this after typing the search term “floating dog ball” into Amazon, having fallen foul of previous purchases which have sunk in rivers/the sea, never to be seen again. This arrived and it looks very durable and so a nice and bright. Unfortunately it definitely does NOT float. Not even for a few seconds. I had to wade into the sea over my wellies to get it back. This would be fine if you never go near water, but for anyone who plays with their dogs near the sea or in rivers lakes, this is a non-starter.

My dogs' favourite ball
I bought this as a replacement for an identical ball when the rope broke after about 5 years of vigorous use. I don't understand why dogs have a favourite ball but they do and this one is a favourite of my 3 dogs. I did make a handle in the rope which makes it easier to throw.

Very short, not durable at all
Our Border Collie is ball mad so I thought she'd love this, sadly she'd ruined it after 3 or 4 plays, the ball part is strong but the rope was really low quality

Helps improve poor throwing technique and the ball is very strong.
I really cannot throw a ball very far but the rope on this ball helps greatly. Also the ball is very strong. My adolescent staffy loves this ball as it is very strong and he can have a wee chew before giving it back for the next throw.
