Solved all my issues
I have been working with a lightning adaptor into a Sony headset for some time when working in the office at my computer. I'm in IT support so being hands free is essential. The annoyances were: 1) the headset was inline in the cable so didn't always face the right way. 2) The lightning adapter and the headset cable were a bit weak so broke one lightning cable already and I suspect I now had a loose connection in the headset cable 3) Walking around was a nightmare, the cable would snap on the height adjuster on my desk when I stood up, I'd get up forgetting it was on and drag my phone off the desk etc. I did a bit of research and this headset tended to get very good reviews so I bit the bullet. A) Its comfortable - It often feels a little loose and out of position but actually it never falls off and I can always hear clearly - I just need to get used to the fit and the fact it doesn't insert in the ear canal which is good as they tend to irritate after a while. B) The audio quality so far is perfect - It does have a slightly different sound to the phone itself but its sharp and clear and I never had problems hearing and people say I sound clear. C) The software on my iphone is great- I can check for firmware updates, change the language (for voice prompts etc) and select whether I want music to play through the earpiece or not so it has some good controls. D) The siri button is good - I can stop/start audio with a push, answer and disconnect or hold it to dial via Siri. I have only used it for half a day so far but its been great. I just put it on my ear and turn it on and I can walk around and carry on with my day and not have to rush and find my phone and then my headset and plug it all in. I'd constantly say to people "Just a second while I plug in my headset" and hear them continuing to jabber on. Its light, comfortable and doesn't irritate my ears at all and normal earbuds drive me crazy in a very short time. So really the only caveat is I haven't had it long enough to see how good the battery life is but its filling exactly the need I purchased it for. Time will tell as far as reliability goes. I've given 5 stars on everything as it reports 5 hours of talk time and so far I've spoken for about 24 minutes on the charge it shipped with and the remaining time is reported as I would expect. Even on my worst days I think I'd struggle to talk for more than 2 hours total. Ok - Been using it for quite a few days now so to update: 1 - Its VERY fast to connect. Power it on and its connected to my Iphone 12 Mini in a second and ready to use with no delay for Audio. My car stereo takes about 5 seconds to boot and connect and then once connected its another few seconds before the audio starts. 2 - I needed to play with the settings a little - Sometimes I'm with someone and a call comes in, normally I just hit the volume down button on my phone so it carries on ringing rather than actively rejecting the call - When I did this the other day the headset carried on talking in my ear and I ended up answering the call anyway - I realised it says "Answer or Ignore" and if I hit the headset button it answers or I can say answer - If I say ignore it rejects the call. You can turn that feature off in the app on the phone that controls the headset so I have to hit the button to answer so it won't interpret me carrying on talking as a request to answer. This is another good feature of this headset - The app gives good control of options and firmware updates. Some headsets are a nightmare or even impossible to update the firmware, this one is a breeze.

Plantronix Voyager 5200 is a very fine piece of equipment
I use this headset for every phone call I take (assuming I haven't laid it down somewhere and can't find it) It has great sound on my end and I've asked callers how they hear me and their response is "perfectly" The only time it gets weird is near the end of its charge or if the phone is in another room. As far as customer service is concerned, I have had no problems. The first one I had broke after a couple years hard use, right at the point where the ear piece connects with the over-the ear piece... this is where the most rotation of the unit is, so it gets a workout. I called customer service and they overnight shipped out a brand new unit with a return mailing pouch. Mind blown. I figured they'd charge for something because it wasn't new... nope just sent me a new one. That one hung around about a year and then disappeared ... just couldn't find it ... I have no idea... anyway, I purchased a new one and have had it for three years with no problems. I purchased a second one for a friend as a gift at the same time and it is still going strong as well. A lot of complaints about how it fits on the ear and its weight. I have no problem with it. So used to it that I don't notice I have it on. I do wear glasses and I also have no problem there. The newest frames have pretty thick ear pieces, and still no problem. The only thing I had to do was get a different ear adapter... I ordered a Chocalatta silicone ear tip as I find the shape more suited to my ear. Do not even bother with trying to use the charger plug in the unit... just order the case. It quickly recharges the unit and holds onto a charge so if you're out all day and need to plug in, it is there for you. It is about the size of an old flip phone but weighs far less. In all, I'd order again if this one ever goes walk-about.

I liked it when I wasn't having troubles with it.
I purchased this Bluetooth 9 months ago and have had problems off and on since getting it. It works well for listening to YouTube, Netflix, Kindle, webinars, etc, but when I get a phone call it becomes instant static on both ends, and I have to turn it off and use my phone. The main reason I got it was for hands free phone calls. I had some problems early on, but they seemed to be fixed after installing the PLT Hub. Once or twice I had to uninstall the app, then reinstall it to clear some hiccups, but it did work most of the time initially. I just don't know what happened. I've tried to remember if it was related to my phone being replaced late December, but I don't remember. (My charger quit working on my phone, and I was given a different - newer - model as Motorola quit making the one I had - a problem completely unrelated to my Bluetooth.) I also got a charging case for my Bluetooth for Christmas, and that didn't really work with it either. It seems like all the frustrations began about then. I keep voicing my frustration, and recently my husband told me I should see if I could get it replaced. I had forgotten I'd bought insurance on it. It hasn't been "damaged" in anyway. I've taken good care of it. It just doesn't work like it should. I don't understand why it works beautifully as a listening device but not for phone calls. *UPDATE* I was searching for something and came across this old review, having forgotten all about it. I hadn't seen the comment from the manufacturer, but I actually did that shortly after my review. I also updated my PLT Hub again. I haven't had problems with it since, so I'm not sure what happened, but it has been working beautifully since then. It does have some problems with phone call clarity on the lower end of my battery life, although books and streaming seem to be okay up until it starts beeping to let me know I need to recharge it. I try not to let it get too low. Changing my review from a 2 star to a 4 star.

Great for music!
I bought this strictly for music. I'm deaf in one ear so regular pods or headphones prevent me from hearing half the music, and I love music more than almost anything. That's why I love this device. It makes music sound fantastic! It has crystal clear clarity that is hard to find. Bass lines thump. Horns and guitars, it all sounds great. Not only that, but the music has space. The musicians sound like they are playing in a large room rather than coming out of a tiny speaker. The only drawback is that I can get only about 4 hours from the device until it needs to charge for an hour. My previous device could last my 10-hour workday playing music, but it didn't sound nearly as good. I guess that's the trade-off, so I'll keep it for when this new Bluetooth is charging.

Love my Legend...but the 5200 is awful (UPDATE 10/19/19...after firmware update it's gotten WORSE!)
Understand, I'm a HUGE Plantronics fan. I've been using their Bluetooth units for years. When I found the Voyager Legend (the version prior to this) it was Nirvana. The Legend is aptly named...it rocks. I've had several of the Legends. Most recently I've been rotating between two Legends so I always have one charged. When I destroyed one in a laundry accident, I found this 5200 while shopping and decided to do what I thought was a step up. Not so. This 5200 is a bit healthier feeling on your ear and in your hands than the Legend. I LOVE the buttons on top of the earpiece that allow for changing volume. The sound is very good...especially in windy or hard to hear conditions. And, huge kudos on the mini USB plug for charging. That's where the good stuff ends. Here is where it all falls apart. The software support is awful. EVERY SINGLE TIME that I answer a call, the 5200 "lets go" of the phone and the call reverts back to the handset. As I have a caller sitting at the other end of the line, I have to keep punching the "5200" as the input device on my handset. Sometimes it will take as many as three clicks before I get it to "stick". It is frustrating and annoying to both me and the caller. Same thing with an outgoing call. It will drop connection with my iPhone as soon as the call is placed. I have to keep punching it and hope I get it to hold a connection before the caller picks up at the other end. Additionally, none of the voice controls work on the 5200. I have it set for voice answer, with it telling me who's calling...but it doesn't do ANY of that. It just rings in my ear...no notification as to who is calling. I have to hit the button on the earpiece to answer (instead of just saying "answer call"), THEN it reverts the call to the handset...and I get mad all over again that I wasted my money on this thing. I know how the voice call is SUPPOSED to work...because it works flawlessly on my Legend. I've submitted trouble tickets to Plantronics about this situation with no luck. They claim I will get a response within 24 hours...the last one went in 10 days ago. Still nothing. I find myself reaching for my Legend in the morning as a way to avoid the 5200. I only will use the 5200 when my Legend is completely dead and needing a charge. As soon as it is charged, I will take this off and go back to the Legend. I think it's all software...but Plantronics hasn't done a thing to address these issues, so I'm pretty much done with this unit until they do. UPDATE 10/19/2019: Plantronics issued a new firmware update for the 5200 last week. If anything, the new update has made this device EVEN WORSE!! I don't know what Plantronics is thinking. The Voyager Legend is probably the best Bluetooth headset out there...the 5200 is quite possibly the WORST. If it were heavier, I could use it as a doorstop. Beyond that, I don't see how they expect me to use it as a Bluetooth device when it is not even capable of answering a call. As soon as I answer a call (by hitting the button on my phone...because I DO NOT HAVE VOICE PROMPTS ON THIS DEVICE...Legend has great voice prompts, tells you who's calling...asks if you want to answer or ignore...not this one...NEVER has this one EVER done that) the phone lets go of the handset. I have to hit the "source" button on my iPhone 11 multiple times to get it to try to reconnect. It has gotten so bad after the firmware update that I've gone to just putting the phone on speaker and talking to callers hands-free that way. My Bluetooth headset is worthless. I'm also making sure to tell every single person I ever speak to that this is an amazing disappointment and, if they are thinking about buying one, to take their 75 bucks and set it on fire in an ashtray. That will be more beneficial to you than wasting it on this horrific piece of poorly engineered junk.

LOVE THIS THING
I gotta tell ya, this Plantronics by Poly Voyager 5200 Bluetooth Headset is the real deal. I've been on the road for years, and this headset has made a world of difference for me. The single-ear (mono) Bluetooth earpiece lets me keep one ear open while I'm on the phone or listening to tunes. The noise-canceling mic is a game-changer. It blocks out all that background noise and makes sure my voice comes through loud and clear. And let me tell you, I'm in some pretty noisy environments! The sound quality is top-notch, and I can use it for calls or listening to music. The Bluetooth connection is solid as a rock, and those voice prompts let me know what's up with the headset's battery life and connection status. It's light as a feather and comfortable to wear, even on those long hauls. And with three different sizes of ear tips, I can make sure I get the perfect fit. Overall, I'd recommend this headset to any trucker out there. It's a real lifesaver on the road and has everything you need to make those calls or listen to music on the go. It's a quality product that does what it says it'll do, and I'm more than happy with my purchase. I gotta tell ya, this Plantronics by Poly Voyager 5200 Bluetooth Headset is the real deal. Best-sounding Headset with Worst Charging Connection in History
I ordered the Plantronics Voyager 5200 just when pandemic work-from-home in March 2020 began because my beloved Jabra headset finally gave up the ghost. I was confident the Plantronics would sound good (I have an even more expensive Plantronics headset at work), but was totally unprepared for the utter pain-in-the-(“neck”) it is to charge. THE GOOD: - It’s easy to pair and the behind-the-ear style is lightweight and very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. - The noise cancellation is really impressive. If you’re walking outside and a Mack truck passes you, the person you’re speaking to will barely hear it. Wind noise is likewise cancelled very effectively. - The top volume could stand to go one step higher, but it’s adequate at the highest volume. - It’s relatively easy to arrange for right- or left-sided use, although it can be a little confounding to contort it from one side to other. However, since most people will want to use it on the same side all the time, that shouldn’t be a practical problem. - The battery life is decent, but nothing to get excited about. If you’re lucky, you’ll get about six hours of talk time. THE BAD & THE FRUSTRATING: - This is an *expensive* headset! But if you use it all the time, you figure it’s worth the investment, right? Well, for me it has been a mixed blessing. - It has the worst micro-USB charging port cover in the history of micro-USB charging port covers. Opening that *tiny* rubber protective port cover (which has no indentation or tab to grab) without damaging it requires either the sharpest fingernails in the world, a razor-thin knife blade or one of those microscopic eyeglass screwdrivers. It was tempting just to rip off that stupid rubber cover, but I was concerned that the connector would get full of dust and gunk. - After a frustrating week of using the micro-USB charging port every day, I basically felt forced to spend another $35 to buy the matching charging case. (Alternatively, you can spend more up-front and buy the headset *with* the charging case, which I would highly recommend if you buy this headset, assuming the combination pack is cheaper than buying the items separately.) The case has a built-in battery to recharge on the go, and even has two sets of tiny blue lights to tell you the battery level of the charger and the headset. - The charging case can be used either of two ways: you can either contort the headset into exactly the right position and stick it inside the case (which requires that you un-contort it after charging to put it back on your ear) or simply place it on top of the stand (in the little charging slot) and use it as a desk stand. - The charging stand is quirky and temperamental. I naively thought a desk-stand charger would be ideal and convenient. Silly me. Plantronics, which is famous for their proprietary and annoying charging connections, likewise equipped this charging case with a proprietary, annoying and *quirky* charging connection: the headset has four tiny copper strips on the back which need to aligned perfectly to the charging strips on the charging stand. When you place the headset on the desk stand correctly, the little blue lights will come on so you know it’s charging. Sounds simple, right? WRONG! It *usually* connects correctly, but about 1/3 of the time, you have to move the stupid headset on and off the charger multiple times to get the charger to recognize it and flash those little blue lights, and sometimes you have to blow hard onto the contacts to remove dust particles which apparently impede the connection. But the worst is, sometimes the little blue lights come on and you think it’s charging, but you wake up the next morning to find that, not only did the headset NOT charge, the charger actually *drained* the battery, leaving you with a completely dead headset. This happens so frequently, I have to remember to check the Plantronics Android app (which is almost as flaky as the charging system) every time I put the headset on the charger to make sure it says “charging.” Sometimes it saying “charging” and and sometimes it doesn’t, requiring you to jiggle the headset around some more until it actually starts to charge. (My $200+ Plantronics office headset, which has a different proprietary and annoying charging connection, has precisely the same flaw.) This is not a particularly fast charger and I have heard no technical justification for this ridiculous connection system, so I have to assume it was created simply to force you to buy a proprietary Plantronics charger. This is a HUGE drawback in my opinion. - After a year or so, the headset started randomly disconnecting and reconnecting to my Android phone. It doesn’t happen that often, but often enough to be really annoying. I have reset the headset sensors countless times, upgraded the firmware (which requires downloading the Plantronics app and plugging your headset into your computer), re-paired the headset to my phone and done pretty much everything else I can think of short of burning chicken feathers and chanting, but the Bluetooth connection has definitely become less reliable. BOTTOM LINE: When it works as it should, the 5200 is the best-sounding and most comfortable Bluetooth headset I’ve ever had. When it doesn’t, it makes you weep over the money you spent and all the aggravation making sure it’s actually charging.

Work From Home - Mutli-Tasker
This is the best 'work from home but also be able to hear what is going on around you' headset I have ever found. Clear audio, great noise canceling features for the people you are talking to (I host WebEx and Google Meetings and they can't hear my background TV, Doorbell Ring, or kids in the background playing/fighting). Batt last 6 hours on full charge over time that seems to go down to 4-5. The only down side is they last about a year or so, max, and that is if you do not lose it, break it, or wash it first. I have had 5 of of them, and about once a year I buy a new one, but worth every penny - especially if you find it on sale. Features I like: I wear it on my left ear, very easy to reverse Activate mute with a touch Activate Siri with voice or touch Fits any ear size, as it comes with easy to swap ear pieces Downside: Doesn't cancel outside noise for you - not great if you want to tune out your surroundings.

Perfect for working from home in noisy environments
Great product. I read a lot of reviews before selecting this product. I needed something that is easy to use, cuts out background noise from traffic when walking but also kids at home. Using on its own or also with the Krisp program (unaffiliated software) cuts out literally all background noise. Talk time is at least 6 hours on a single charge (takes about 30mins to charge)
