Handlebar Throttle is Dangerous
We bought these bikes and after trying them out around the neighborhood a few times we determined that the handlebar throttle is dangerous because it is too easy to turn. A thumb throttle is preferable. I tried taping the throttle off with some strong tape and that seemed to work except that you lose some functionality of the bike. We called the company and they suggested turning the Display off before stopping and slowing down and this is awkward because the display needs to be pressed quite hard and held down for 3-4 seconds to come on. This is a problem because doing this takes your eyes off where you are going and divert attention. The bike is quite powerful and takes off pretty quickly even in Peddle Assist Level 1.
