Excellent light for night reading or low ambient light
I bought this with the M-Edge Executive Kindle Jacket, Black (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle) . It fits securely into the slot designed for it. It adjusts easily in multiple positions, and it's easy to get it positioned so that the screen is illuminated but with no glare or excess reflection. (Some people report trouble positioning the light arm, but I had no difficulties with it -- there may be some lemons out there.) It also fits perfectly in the spine of the jacket/case when folded away and the cover closed. It has three brightness levels. Even in a totally dark room, I can read with it set at the second level. When I loaned my Kindle to my mother, she used the light to provide additional illumination and improve the apparent contrast on the Kindle's screen (she has some vision problems and found that without the light, there wasn't sufficient contrast between the grayish background and the text). I have read late at night, and I find the light's "blinking" feature really helpful to remind me that I shouldn't read too much longer! After an hour, the light blinks a few times, and then if you don't tap it, the light turns itself off. It also saves on the battery if you forget to turn it off or if it is turned on accidentally. Someone in another review claimed that the battery only lasts her an hour in this light. I have only used the light for six or seven hours so far, but it doesn't seem that the battery is in any danger of dying soon, and I'm just using a generic alkaline battery in it. I think she/he may have mistaken the battery-saving feature (where it blinks and then shuts itself off) for the battery dying. Someone mentioned that the light is too easy to turn on accidentally, but I've only done that once. I can see how someone could have that happen, though, depending on how they hold the case when they're reading. I noticed immediately that I'd turned it on and then turned it off. The tap button is very sensitive, but I find that a positive feature. I am glad I decide to buy this light & the case that it goes with. I was hesitant because of the additional cost on top of the Kindle, but it was worth it.

Used for bedtime reading, 3 years, still working great
The base of this light fits neatly between my kindle and it's cover, stays secure, and provides perfect light for bedtime reading without being too bright to bother my wife. 3 brightness settings, I find the middle one to work best for me. I use a single rechargeable AAA battery, and it lasts for about 3-4 weeks reading every night before I change the battery. A non-rechargeable AAA lasts about twice as long. It is so lightweight I barely notice it is there. I have had it for over 3 years, still working perfectly, is flexible to point light wherever I want it. I hope it never dies on me, but if it does, I can only hope the same model is still available. For me this is a perfect nighttime reading light.

Good light
I had to move up to this new version of the mEdge light because I pulled apart my old one. Truth be told, I preferred the old design - mostly because the mechanism in the neck was stiffer and could be better positioned over your Kindle. With that said, and since the old version is no longer available (or if it is, it is much more expensive than this one), I do like this version. Another reviewer said that you can't position this light directly over your Kindle - while this is true, you don't actually need to position the light directly over your Kindle in order to read it! The arc for this light is very wide, so it doesn't have to shine directly on the book. I do like the three different settings (new to this version) and the design is slightly more compact. I have an mEdge jacket and it fits perfectly. The light varies from dim to bright, which is useful in a number of situations (e.g. reading on an evening flight or reading in bed next to my sleeping husband). I would recommend.

You need this light
I have the M-Edge Capital case for my Kindle 3, and this booklight is just what the doctor ordered. It's a perfect fit, and it works great packaged alongside the Kindle when the case is closed. If you are reading in utter darkness, the low setting accomplishes the job fine. But I often use the medium setting as a matter of personal preference. The emitted light covers the whole screen with no problem. If you rotate the arm approx. 45 degrees above the Kindle, and aim the light down, there is no washout, and covers all the way to the bottom. The battery cover was a bit tricky to remove, but once I got the hang of it, it was easy. The light takes one AAA battery, and I've replaced it once after reading 5 complete long-winded books. A well, thought-out design matched with a very bright light, will keep your wife/husband happy while you read on your side of the bed. I don't know how I've read so long without one. Enjoy!

Great light for a great value
I love this light. I purchased an M-edge case a while back and didn't think I'd ever want a light, but between traveling, reading in bed, and reading in low light conditions, a light is a necessity. I knew I would get this light because it works well with my case... I don't regret that decision one bit. There are three settings of brightness, the touch functionality works great and it fits perfectly with my case. I don't have any of the reported issues from other reviewers, I almost feel like they received a different product all together! My only quip with the light is the weird notches that are there to keep it set at certain angles. I don't like how cheap they feel/look. If they could update the hinge to be a ratchet type, I think it would match the quality and great functionality of the rest of the product. Bottom line: I'm very pleased, great product at a great price, and I would definitely recommend this light for fellow Kindle users!

Disappointing
I bought this for my M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket. The light itself is great. It's very bright and has three settings. The touch control to switch on the light is very sensitive and kind of annoying but not so bad, once you get used to it. If the unit is inserted into the back flap of the jacket (where it's designed to go) it doesn't illuminate the Kindle. No matter how much I bent or twisted it, it wouldn't stay where I pointed it. The only way that it's useful is if it's removed from the back flap and inserted behind the Kindle in front. I can live with that but it's not what I expected.

Worth the money -- highly recommend this book light
I absolutely love this light. I did some research on book lights (because I guess my life is just THAT interesting) and in spite of some of the reviews, I opted to spend a little more and get this one. Probably mostly because I have the zippered jacket for my kindle and all the pictures show that this stores perfectly in what would otherwise be the spine of a book when not in use. I have to wonder about the people that claim this light is too dim and you can't read anything. My guess is that these reviewers did not realize that there are 3 light settings on this light. The default is the lowest/dimmest setting. If you gently tap the ON switch again, it notches up. Tap again and it goes up one more setting. To turn it off, you tap it a third time. So at some point, these reviewers HAD to turn off their lights and see that in the process of turning it off, it's getting brighter. Or maybe THEY are the dim bulbs? Regardless, the brightest setting is actually TOO bright for me when I'm reading in bed, so for people who like things brighter, I am SURE this would work for you. As for it being touchy, I have not experienced anything like that with it yet (granted, I have owned it for about a week, so there is plenty of time for things to go sideways). It has been behaving perfectly for me, but it is small so I could see where it could break easily if 'manhandled' inappropriately.

Fills my need perfectly
I'm going back to reading a book before bed. A paper and ink book and needed a night light so as not to bother my wife. This provides the perfect light on the page but not too much to disturb. Checked every box I needed.
