Five Stars
A fascinating history

Disappointing
A very simplistic overview of this fascinating culture. Much of the information is out of date given the discoveries in recent years. Some "facts" are no more than suppositions, and some are just wrong, e.g. that all of the Hittites weapons were made of iron. While the Hittites posessed some iron, it would have been of meteoric origin, as they did not have the technology to smelt this metal. What iron they did posess was in no greater or lesser that their opponents. I wouldn't rely on anything I read in this short book. Author's marks - 5 out of ten - must try harder...

Not much information
The book is very short, only about 60 pages. It gives a very brief overview of the Hittites and doesn't really explore or go into depth about what they did. It's good as an overview of the civilization if you don't know anything about them.

Good ancient history book
If one enjoys reading about ancient history and those nations in the Bible, I believe they would enjoy this book. Though not long in size, it covers much of the history I was curious about. I would like to read further information about this culture but I know books on ancient history are limited by the amount that can be discovered.

Living in the Hittites' world.
Very educational history of the Hittites. The background of these ancient peoples showed how advanced they were compared with some of the other ancient people.

some times you choose books with more hittites than you really planned to read about.
endless repitition of hittite translations that never made the top 10 lists may be explalined by writers who target the 'free for kindle' market. other writers have the dignity to allow their work to languish unbought on amazon until someone realizes all the hot sex that is in them and tells their friends who go for the 'decent royalties for really hot books on the kinky alternate human history market'.but there were some meaningful comments about the hittites that made it seem they were sort of nice people in some things related to wars are the reonstruction of the area economy after the wars were finished.
