Reliable Mesh System with Huge Speed Gains
I bought two Amazon eero 6 routers to improve my home network, and the difference has been massive. Before installing them, I was consistently getting around 30 Mb/s download speed. After setting these up, I’m now getting roughly 400 Mb/s, which is a huge upgrade that I noticed immediately. The setup process was extremely easy. The instructions were clear, and the app guided me through everything step by step. The app itself is very user‑friendly and made the whole process simple, even when I hit one small issue where it asked for PPPoE login details. A quick search sorted that out, and everything worked perfectly afterward.I bought two units because I needed one router connected to the modem and another in a different room so I could run an ethernet connection directly to my PC. This setup works flawlessly, and I’ve had zero connectivity issues in the week I’ve been using them. The routers themselves look great with a sleek white design, very small, and they blend in nicely without taking up space or drawing attention. Especially compared to the massive ugly routers given by ISPs. For the performance boost and ease of use, these have been absolutely worth it.

Amazing Product 100% recommend
When we moved into our new home we were unable to get WiFi coverage in our living room & sometimes on the second floor, the old owners left an eero extender in the living room so we purchased the rooter & another extender & honestly it’s been unbelievable, I would 100% recommend this product not just for how good it works but also for the amazing customer service I received from knowledgeable, patient, professional people who take their time & don’t leave you on hold or take ages to answer. I never leave reviews but this was so easy & painless to set up I felt I had to share!

WORKS WITH PPPoE IN UK
I read a lot of the reviews about this not working with UK providers, but this has been fixed, and the latest firmware now supports PPPoE. There is no need to bridge or double nat the router any longer. I connected the eero to my existing router first with an ethernet cable, got the eero app to upgrade the eero firmware which was very easy to do, then disconnected my old router and changed the eero networking settings to pppoe. Entered my credentials for my provider and it all just worked. I was also able to use the existing wifi name and password so all the existing devices on the network didn't need to be setup again, they just connected seamlessly to the eero. You will still need a fibre modem to connect to your phone socket, (but not mandatory, you can still use your old router to connect to the phone socket, just disable the WiFi on the old router), then connect the eero to the modem. These are typically a lot smaller than the routers provided by the internet providers and can be hidden a lot more easily than the bulky routers supplied by the providers. The coverage is about the same as the old router. I would recommend getting at least one extender or an additional router for better coverage. Also be aware that the extenders don't include any lan sockets, only the routers have the lan sockets. As a result I bought two routers so that I had the option of using the second router as an extender which benefits from having the lan sockets. Setting up the second router was also really easy in the app.The app allows profiles to be created and certain devices can be added to each profile. This way you can have your children's devices on a kids profile which has parental controls to prevent inappropriate content from making its way onto their devices. You can also pause the access to the profile too if needed. It also has an ad blocker feature.NOTE: The ad blocker and parental controls is a subscription based feature and costs extra on a monthly or annual subscription basis. I wasn't impressed when I found this out, so at least you are aware of this now too.The app also has a nice guest network feature. Simply enable the guest network for your friends to connect to. It automatically creates a new wifi name for them to connect to and creates a new password for that network, keeping your main network ring-fenced from your guest's devices.I had problems connecting my printer as it uses WPS which is now outdated, so am still struggling to get it working. The router provides access to a 2.4 GHz and a 5GHz network so old devices on 2.4GHz with still be able to connect without any issue.I haven't tried to use the built in Zigbee home hub yet, so I can't comment on that at this point. I will update this review once I have. All in all, a nice little router, with a handy app. Much nicer looking than the old router from my internet provider, and the app is much easier to use compared to the admin page on the old router.I would have given it 5 stars if the parental controls and ad blocker features were included as standard. This was disappointing to find out it came with an additional charge.PS: I have also discovered that the LED light on the device can be turned off from within the app. This is useful if you have a router in a bedroom as the light can be quite bright. A nice little feature.

Reliable connection, easy to set up, great app
I don’t often leave reviews but had to for this! I ordered the eero out of despair with my Vodafone supplied router not connecting to anything.Within 5 minutes of delivery, I had it up and running, WiFi disabled on the old router, eero set up with the old username and password and all my devices connected to the new eero automatically.App makes it very easy to set up, and I like that you can add notifications when a new device connects, pause connections, and display a qr code to join.Well worth the money, full coverage in every room at decent speeds.

A cinch to set up - it worked out of the box
I'm not great at reading manuals, so I plugged in the extender, turned it on, then looked at the app on my phone. It worked at once. The app asked if I wanted to update the Eero system. That took about five minutes.I had placed the extender in a bedroom quite close to the eero router to try it out. Could I now relocate it?No problem, it worked within two minutes and, for the first time, my outdoor office is online.

BRILLIANT!
This extender has made a surprising difference to my wi-fi items. i live in a flat which is on the first floor, but my front door is on the ground floor, so when my Eero system was installed, i had the hub placed at the top of the stairs, because i needed the signal to reach an outdoor camera i have by the front door. Now the only thing i was a little concerned about, was that having the hub at the top of the stairs, meant it was a good 60-70ft away from my t.v in the living room, which is effectively the far end of the flat, but it seemed ok, however, after buying a new t.v with the new Freely built into it, i started to notice that every now and again, one of the channels kept freezing for a split second, then be ok, so started to wonder if it was a wifi issue. Anyway, i bit the bullet and bought this extender to put in the living room and what a difference it`s made! I`ve had no more freezing pictures on a couple of channels and by accident, i spotted that the signal strength meter for my camera had gone from one bar in orange, to three bars in green, which is weird, because the extender is further away from the camera than the main hub is, so i don`t get that one :)Anyway, great bit of kit and really pleased with it, makes a big difference to wifi strength.

Eero Mesh WiFi system
As a Virgin media customer my broadband has always been very good. However, with the increasing number of connected devices in a modern home, the WiFi had issues. These were not speed related issues but issues like devices disconnecting, smart bulbs and smart plugs not responding etc. This usually resulted in rebooting the Virgin router. Another problem was a poor WiFi connection to the second floor.Enter the Eero Mesh WiFi system. I positioned the main unit near my Virgin router, an extender on the first floor and the second extender on the second floor. It was simple to setup with a network name and password. To avoid confusion with smart home devices it is recommended that your existing router is put in Modem mode. This is to prevent your existing devices from trying to connect to your old network. You will need to refer to your router instructions to do this. For my Virgin media one, putting it in modem mode stopped it connecting to the internet at all, even though ethernet cables. Fortunately, I discovered a workaround. The Virgin Media Connect app allows you to disable the WiFi on the Virgin router via the app, (it can be turned back on via the app).Once this was complete, I connected all my devices. Devices can be labelled so you can see at a glance in the Eero app what devices are connected. It also allows you to pause the connection to an individual device, effectively disconnecting it until you unpause it. So if you notice that someone is "borrowing" your internet, you can stop them. After using this setup for around 6 months, I really don't know how I did without it. WiFi reaches all points of the house with a stable and reliable connection. I have only rebooted the Eero system once during this time but that wasn't an Eero issue, it was the Virgin connection. I've also only rebooted the virgin router once during this time and again it was a Virgin issue causing it. The connection throughout the house is fantastic. Streaming movies and gaming on the secondfloor is a breeze.Highly recommended to extend the WiFi throughout your home or to provide a more stable and reliable replacement for your existing router.

Not fit for purpose
Yesterday I had 4 hours trying to get my eero 6 to work. Approximately 2 hours on the telephone to the customer support line. They are very frustrating with lots of combinations of: turn off the router, the ONT, delete and reinstall the app, delete all your details in the app, lots of waiting for rebooting. It was clear that no one understood how to deal with PPPoE security and how the app deals with it. Information I found on the internet of eero 6 and PPPoE was out-of-date and wrong. After 4 hours yesterday, I got up to see that I had no internet. So, another 2 1/2 hours this morning. The help provided by eero is very poor: there seems to be a strong assumption that everything will work 1st time and therefore problem solving seems to involve in: reboot, delete & reinstall etc. After a large number of tries this morning it sudden started to work and I got internet. I don't know why.I had 6gb of mobile data when I started the installation of eero 6 and I have used that up. Mobile data is crucial since the app won't work without it and without the app you can't set up the router.Had I known what this product involved I would never have purchased it. I will wait until the end of today to decide whether to return it.The experience of trying to install the eero 6 has been very stressful and I would say that it is well worth avoiding that level of stress.I have read times been asked to read out the serial number on the eero 6. The print is very small and I can't read it. My son could just about read it but he noted ambiguous symbols (O / 0 and 1 / I /l). It is a very long number to keep reading out to support staff.
