Page turner, lots of tears, confusion, hope and disappointment. Awesome plot, surprise and shock after surprise and shock. Couldn't put it down.

Kept you guessing up until near the end. Liked having a flawed heroine and hero. She's a very good writer.

This is a great book. It is the beginning of the romance series books starring police officer Raine Conner and the FBI profiler Pierce Quincy. This story is about a school shooting with a twist at the end of the book. The two main characters that are in the novel have their own set of problems and they are major problems. I would recommend this book to anyone that would like to read a very good mystery and appreciate this author's gift for story telling. It is a read that for me was very hard to put down as it holds your interest all the way thru the novel.

All I can say is this is an exceptional novel with suspense throughout. I loved it beginning to end. Rainy is a great female character flaws, but she is tough! FBI agent Quincy is tough enough to hang in her atmosphere, but gentle enough to fall in love with her. Great love story amongst suspense!

Lisa Gardner has become one of my favorites of the contemporary suspense writers. I've read most of her books now and this is one of the best. I think Rainie Conner might be the best character she has created so far. Highly recommended.

Can't put any of her books down! I order the next one before I finish the one I'm reading and each one get's better! Some of the stories are disturbing and hard for me to get through but I keep going back for more! So happy I stumbled upon Lisa Gardner!

I have read every single book in this series in less than 24 hours ! Lisa Gardner does not disappoint. In each book she keeps you guessing who the bad guy is. With each of the good guys having jaded pasts, you are on the edge of your seat until the very end. And when you read the last page, she leaves you wanting MORE !!! I am ready for her to write the NEXT 6 books for The FBI Profiler series. I can not get enough of the Quincy family ! Please hurry Lisa ! I will forever be an indebted fan.

Lisa Gardner is always on my auto-buy list. Her novels are never a disappointment. Always well plotted and, while riveting, they're very adult in a wise way. Nothing staid or boring about them. Just mature. Not too-stupid-to-live characters. Always a plus.

Last year was my Lisa Gardener year when I binge read all of the 'DD Warren' series up to date.This year I'm rationing out the FBI Profiler series and have just read book 2, so there is plenty more to go. (I love her books).What can I say; it does my soul good to occasionally escape from this Sceptred Isle of ours and go way out west to the northwest coast Oregon, where lies the small town of Bakersville, with a small time sheriff's department dealing with a big time crime. Mass murder, and the Sheriff's 13 year old son is caught red handed with a smoking gun in his hand.Enter FBI profiler, Dr Pierce Quincy, who is here to assist Officer Rainie Connor, who has known the perpetrator since childhood.High drama, at it's very best. I was on the edge of my seat reading this one.Brilliant, brilliant brilliant. You have got to read it.

The book is about 25% smaller than a normal paperback. The text is therefore cramped and particularly difficult to read in the centrefold area. Many of the words are hyphenated as the full word cannot be printed on the same line e.g. de-veloping. This makes it difficult and uncomfortable to read. Having not yet read the book I’m already put off by the printers decision to save money on paper at the expense of making it an enjoyable read for the re-ad-er!!

I have been a fan of Lisa Gardner since reading the perfect husband many many years ago. Since that day i have borrowed from the library and since last year downloaded on my kindle. I have a list of her books and mark them off when i have read them. I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed with this author. Her books are full of suspense, action, drama, little bit of love, and above all i can't put them down. Didn't see the end who-dunnit coming at all. Really did keep me guessing until the reveal. Totally worthy of five stars. And onto the next book :-)

Love Lisa Gardener books and this is does not disappoint

started off thinking it was not as good as previous book " The Perfect Husband" - still good but not AS good. Then about one third of the way through I realized it had grabbed me and I just had to get to the end
