You won't believe how we used this Handy Scale!
We looked everywhere for a way to weigh my wife via a sling used with her Hoyer Lift. She had lost a lot of weight but we knew not how much. She cannot stand. I disengaged the bar on the lift, attached the digital scale and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much.

Works with a Hoyer Lift
Really needed a way to weigh our disabled son who is wheel chair bound and not able to stand on a traditional scale, even the ones in the medical clinics. We had a hoyer lift already and this scale works perfectly with it. My husband only had to a a couple of bolts to make it secure on the lift. So glad we found this and we now have a way to make sure our son is maintaining his weight.

Better than 1% accurate, but limited display angle; 3xAA batteries NOT included
The LCD display reads OK when the scale is at or above eye level, but it is nearly impossible to read if you are looking down at it. The Amazon description says 2x AAA batteries are included. What I received (blue color model) takes 3x AA batteries and they were NOT included, so I took off one star for that. Apart from that, it seems to work fine. It includes one more tiny thing not shown in the photo, a U-shaped cotter pin that goes through the threaded end of the shackle bolt after assembly, to stop it from working loose. I made a webbing sling and weighed myself with it. It says 176.3 pounds (repeatably) and my Tanita HD-317 bathroom scale says 175.8 pounds. Tanita claims theirs is accurate to 0.2 pounds. I don't have an calibrated proof mass, but at least they agree within 0.3%. It seems to have kg as "native" units with 0.1 kg resolution. The pounds and newtons are converted from that reading, so the readout changes in steps of about 0.2 pounds and 0.9 newtons. When you turn it on it auto-zeros, so if it's turned on with a load and then unloaded, the reading goes negative.

Perfect except for one thing
I'm using this for bow draw weight evaluation... so my comment here doesn't apply to any other use, because normal weighing is constant.Love the product, just wish there was an option for the display to "freeze" at the highest weight measured. Because it doesn't, I have to watch the scale constantly while I slooooowly pull down my compound bow until it's at it's maximum draw, just before the let-off occurs. No regrets, though, and I'll be using it for other things, so that one shortcoming isn't even close to a deal-breaker.I HAVE seen comments here on assembling this item, specifically the top part where the rubber gaskets go for the metal loop. I have no idea why that's a challenge for some people, but if you find that hard to figure out, then the problem isn't really the unit or instructions. You simply remove the cotter pin from the bolt, slide the bolt out of the loop, put the rubber washers in the recesses at the top of the unit, slide the loop over the washers (it fits perfectly, then slide the bolt back through the loop. Then you replace the cotter pin, making sure it's bent out enough that it won't slip out of the bolt.Very, very, very basic stuff.

Hanging scale for Father's Day
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Bought this hanging scale for my husband for Father's Day! His hobby is fishing and he had an old rusty hanging scale on a boat, so he was very happy to get a useful durable new thing for the holiday. It's a very lightweight but very solid scale! Also made a video review - so you can take a look yourself. We are very satisfied!

Works!
I bought this to weigh some logs and to have on hand for whatever else. Works fine. It came with some rubber washers which I put on the top shackle and it tweaked the housing every time I lifted something so it would turn off and not work. I removed the rubber washers and its been fine since. My only complaint is it is difficult to read the screen from off angles. You need to be close to straight on to read it.

Easy to use, good price, and very linear.
Easy to use, good price, and very linear. Using a collection of weights from 10 to 40 lbs, weighing them individually and then in many combinations, I was able to measure the linearity as being +/- 1 lb over a range of 20 to 150 lbs. This measurement is no substitute for absolute accuracy, but I don't have any NIST-traceable weight standards laying around in my garage :-/

Looks compact, well designed, and hopefully accurate
The unit looks very good. My intended use is to weigh game (deer and turkeys) and also boxes of frozen fish that we ship. I can't give a working review because I haven't used it yet, but it looks well made and has some well thought out features, like a shackle hook for attaching to your hoist. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have preferred to buy the one that has a metal case. I'm careful with my tools (like this scale) , but buying the metal case may have given me additional peace of mind. The analogue scale this is replacing was horribly inaccurate( +/- 2lbs) and when it fell off the hoist and hit the concrete, it died a merciful death.Update to earlier review:Upon opening the box, I had questions about the number and size of the batteries the unit required. I contacted Modern Step, and Paul, the owner, was almost instantaneous in responding to me and answering any questions I had. The batteries which were to be included weren't there, and he graciously offered to compensate me for the cost of the batteries, which I chose to decline. Truly excellent customer service; I'd readily buy from him again. Definitely 5 star customer support.

Good solid scale
This is a good strong scale with a good display & easy to use. The attachments look solid although I have only used to 110kg. I used to check the elongation of waterski ropes.

Good product
Good product although the bottom hook was a bit short so had to make another loop

Very accurate and robust
I bought this for weighing my puppies and my adult dog, also to weigh luggage etc. It is very robust and accurate; at least up to 30kg-I have not yet weighed higher than that. The only complaint I would have is that the digital readout is hard to see it the scales is not at or near eye level.

Sturdy and robust, easy to use.
Does what I expect it to. For heavy weights you need a place to hand it, so I bought a small winch with it.
