48 HRS - PARAMOUNT PRESENTS Volume 19 [BLU-RAY]

Paramount Presents[#19] releases "48 HRS." (1982) on Blu-ray, looking superb in HD, a huge 4K upgrade from the ancient 1998, non-anamorphic DVD, porting over the theatrical trailer, but also including the 1966 cartoon "Space Kid" that features in one scene, plus an interview with director Walter Hill.Starring Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy, a big hit in its time that revitalized the cop buddy picture genre, and comes in the fold-out slipcover that this line is known for.

Walter Hill's 1982 action thriller is a must have for serious film buffs and collectors. I was very impressed with the new transfer paramount did with this new blu-ray. They cleaned a lot of the dust specs that were left over from the previous blu ray release. Ric Waite's photography has never looked better now with this transfer. And the sound design is spectacular.There's also a great interview with Walter Hill as part of the extras. He goes into detail on his creative process and his decisions while making the film. I've been an admirer of Hill's for a long time and this is one of his best efforts. The interview itself is worth buying the new release. Highly recommend.

A seriously great action movie from the great Walter Hill. This is how you make a damn fine film without cgi.

The film that marked Eddie Murphy's film debut and set the trajectoryof buddy/cop films. The blend of action and comedy wove seamlesslyMurphy is Reggie Hammond a convict who is awaiting six months over a three year sentence for armed robbery, Nick Nolte is Police Officer Jack Cates who arranges to get Murphy out of prison for 48 hours to investigate on a case that Murphy can piece the clues together while at first hate each other's guts, but come to respect one another.

Until we get a proper 4K release this is the best quality you will see - I really love this paramount line of blu rays!

No CGI but solid acting and story telling. Still very enjoyable after repeated viewing though the years. It is better in Blu Ray.

Love this movie. This transfer is better then what's on Amazon prime. If you're a fan, definitely pick this up

Eddie Murphy plays a role for which we are not accustomed as usually he is the 'good guy' and here he is an ex-con....but still a great movie..
