Massive and absolutely lovely
Look, if you don't have a spider strainer in your kitchen, you really should get one. I prefer ones like this with a wooden handle for a few reasons. First, and foremost, they're way sturdier. I've had a few of the metal-handled ones that wobble back and forth, which, if you're deep frying, is no good. These ones won't budge an inch. Second, you can do the "chopstick" trick with oil with this wooden handle. Basically, you can put it in the oil, and if it sizzles a bit, the oil is hot enough to fry. The 7 inch one is really massive, definitely too big for a little pan job, but I adore it for doing batches of noodles or fried goods.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: My favorite tool in the kitchen to get chopped up salad out of the sink and works great for fried food and cast-iron pans

Great old school device for deep frying
For some reason this great old school brass strainer works the best for picking your food out of the deep fryer. Tried them all and this really is the best. Not easy to clean though, best to rinse it clean while still hot.

Perfect size for in the kitchen
I make chicken stock frequently (using Costco chicken carcasses) and this skimmer works great to lift the bones/skin/seasonings from the broth. Perfect size - I did buy a larger one, but it’s just too big.

Great size
Perfect size for my 11” Japanese steel deep fryer. Easy to handle and works well with different shaped foods.

A QUALITY GIFT
...An excellent quality brass + bamboo strainer ~ the brass wire is best for frying, as the foods are less likely to stick while cooking ~ the basket is tightly woven, so the item is very sturdy...the handle is also a generous enough length ~ this tool would make a great gift.....Z

Right sized skimmer
Well constructed. Made from brass which helps in terms of being sanitary given natural anti-microbial nature of brass. Well made.
