THESE BLOW! (in a good way!)
Excellent cooling fans! Really move some air. I'm using 2x of them on a lifted mud truck. The original mechanical fan kept getting bent up by mud and rocks. They do draw a TON of current, more than 30A each. Needed a 120A relay to power both. Most cheap fan wiring kits out there will not work. I actually had to install a larger alternator to power both! Now I can shut fans down BEFORE I go through a mud bog, and turn them on to quickly cool it down when I get out (if I get out?). Other electric fans I tried just didn't have the balls...these do!

Turbo fan.
Just installed. Puts out some serious air. Says 60 amp fuse is required which requires I think a 6 guage wire. Yet the wires on the fan are only 14 guage so I'm assuming it's 60 amp peak at kick on. And probably 30-40 amp average. 6 guage is a pretty big wire. I don't think it's needed at all. But Fan is built very well and is very solid in the hands. The end of the blades are all connected by a outer ring. The wires are protected by a nice rubber like jacket for protection. Overall is a nice piece for a fan. I hope it goes the distance.

Amazing
I'm writing this review for using this 12" high output SPAL fan on a kit car based on the ford focus 2.0L engine rear mounted with a front mount honda b16 triple core radiator.Initially I used a small (1" thick) radiator fan and constantly over heated. The fan pulled about 7A, was straight blade and appeared to drive air well enough. But I just couldn't keep the temps below 220F under load and even at idle they wouldn't drop below 210F.I did a bit of research and saw SPAL recommended as the professional choice of race shops for quality and durability. Since my B16 radiator could only handle a 12" fan, I picked this one as it had the highest rating of CFM and had a shroud - shroudless fans are much less effective as they can pull air from the sides instead of through the radiator.Installation was a breeze. I used a $5 ziptie-style installation kit that runs plastic ties through the radiator. The radiator comes with a SPAL connector installed on the end. However, if you want the other side to retrofit, you have to spend another $15 and buy that from SPAL. This is why I'm knocking it down 1 star. I just cut that connector off and used a set from my caspers connector kit to rewire it. The fan states that you should use a 60A fuse, but I find that 30A works just fine. 20A does not... I ordered a set of 40A just to give it enough headroom in a hot start situation. I don't think it's possible to find a standard size blade fuse over 40A so if you want to follow SPAL's directions to the letter, you'll have to move the fuse outside of your regular fusebox. When the fan kicked on for first time, I was actually a little disappointed by the lack of noise. It was quieter than my original tiny fan! But standing in front of it was a different experience. The amount of air this thing moves is amazing. Even under hard driving on the track, I can't get the coolant temperatures to budge more than 1-2 degrees over the fan kick-on set point. In short, if you can do your own rewiring of the connector (or buy the other side from SPAL), I'm convinced that this is the best 12" fan for the money out there.

One kick @ss fan!!
Love this fan! Put one on my turbo car and before it would have a hard time keeping a steady coolant temp. Now not only is it steady, it's also able to cool down to a lower temp if I set it lower. Love it. Buying another for my Turbo daily. One kick ass fan.
