5 out of 6 battery packs would not hold a charge.
I was really being hopeful that these batteries would make good replacements for my FRS Radios. They fit perfectly and there was no problem with charging them with the existing charger that came with the FRS Radios. From all indications the batteries took a charge and were ready for service. This is where the rubber hit the road. The FRS Radios would only work for +/- 5 minutes on these "new" battery packs.I am not the only person to experience problems with these battery packs. There were other reviews on these batteries, and they indicate the same issue. One review was very detailed about date codes, etc. I should have heeded their advice and found a different supplier. Then again, who makes the batteries being put in these shrink-wrapped sleeves and am I just getting the same battery in a different colored package?Anyway, I tried several times to get these batteries to charge. Each time the charging indicator reflected a complete charge. Nope. Same result as before. After trying 3 times on 6 battery packs over ten days I said enough is enough and have boxed them up and am sending them back. Hopefully, I can find another supplier that has some good battery packs in stock.

Strangely seems out of normal dimensions for the charging pads
I got these batteries which seemed to be a good bargain for surplus genuine OEM batteries for Uniden GMRS/FRS radios. I have several GMR885 and GMR1088 units that use the BP-38 battery pack. When I first inserted them, they would not charge. I initially thought they might have dead cells, but after comparing them to the working ones that I had, I noted that the two charging pads on the back of the pack which are supposed to mate with metal springs in the back cover, didn't seem to be the same size as the ones I had. They seemed smaller and as I was to discover, a bit more depressed into the pack. At first I thought they just didn't line up vertically with the contacts inside the back cover, but after experimenting with some aluminum foil, I discovered that putting a small "wad" right on top of the contact and then compressing it with the back cover and latching it, the pack behaved normally. I put them on charge for a few hours and I will see how they perform. Assuming this abnormality in the depth of the charging pads is the only issue, I will need to devise a more permanent solution.

I'll give it a favorable rating because they work and ...
I'll give it a favorable rating because they work and are cheap, but I had to cut out some of the black plastic material to get the metal connectors to make contact, stabbing my thumb in the process. And the fit is very tight probably stretching out the radio in the process. Would not purchase again.

Junque. Plain and Simple.
This Syosset, NY retailer should advertise their shoddy "goods" on late-night TV, on matchbooks or inside sleazy dailies and not on Amazon. Too frequently, even a top online sales leader such as Amazon can become duped by phonies such as "iSave", and while Amazon receives a small slice of the Marketplace vendor's sales, the gigantic slice of revenue goes to the unethical vendor, while the cheap, corrupt, and labeled-to-emulate-quality-OEM-products merchandise goes to the purchasers, most of whom are unaware of what lies beneath the "faked" label. These "battery packs", as they're purported to be are a collection of low-to-no-quality "factory seconds" and/or "factory rejects", and or "recycled", cobbled together in overseas "sweatshops" by unimaginable "labor forces". The label, which is a slick photocopy of an original OEM battery label minus the manufacturer's name, posts a "Date Code" of "5104". Anyone knowledgeable of Date Code standards should recognize that the stated "Date Code" of "5104" represents either the "51"st week of the year which ends in "04", such as 1904, 2004, or 2104, or represents the "104"th day of the year which ends in "5", such as 1995, 2005, or 2015. Every single "battery pack" advertised and sold by this vendor is marked "5104" indicating that the label is not informative but misleading. If these "battery packs" were manufactured in 2004, then to market them in 2014 suggests that they are already 10 years out of date, and if these "battery packs" were manufactured in 2005 suggests that they are already 9 years out of date. I would suggest that the "batteries" inside these "battery packs" are much younger than that, but that they are not quality batteries, but instead "seconds", "rejects", or "recycled" which have been repackaged to appear new and unused. Of six packs that I purchased, three would not charge - initial battery voltage of 5.07V and final battery voltage of 5.07V after 24 hours in a Uniden FRS/GMRS radio. While each of the unchargeable "battery packs" would operate the radio, since they could not be recharged, they were defective. The remaining three "battery packs" would charge - initial battery voltage of 5.07V and final battery voltage of 5.75V after 24 hours in the same radio, but of the three that would charge, only two of them would operate the radio. I have packaged these six "battery packs" to return to the Marketplace Vendor, and since this was not an Amazon Prime purchase, the return shipping to mail 11 oz of junque "battery packs" to iSave is $3.76, so the loser is the purchaser. Caveat Emptor.
