A beautiful adventures journey ohhh my heart ❤️
You may feel this book boring at first , just trust me and read 250 pages no matter what you feel just read it .. and then you will just get totally hooked into its world the underwater adventure the food that they eat the books that they read .you will learn about so many fishes and islands tbh this book made me buy a world map so I can track there journey. Earlier I was using Google maps and I was literally feeling that I am on this journy it took me with them , I was hoping that this book would never end ,, but alas it ended in 4 days I completed this book in just 4 days and it has 478 pages .. just buy this clothbound addition and one thing don't drop water on this book .. I spilled water on the cover and now you can see the "sea" text is snugged... As I rubbed it to wipe water .. anyway to and buy it if you love slow burn classic novels ..

Excellent edition
This review is written partly as a counterbalance to some of the negative comments here. It is well produced book with a lovely cover, although the feel of it (a kind of hard velvet) is unusual in my experience. The book is also well printed (except for what looked like small ink blots on a couple of pages) and very well bound. The bookmark ribbon is a nice touch and very useful. The book is a handy size for reading. The are no glue spots on it anywhere and no ink came off it either from the cover or the pages. It seems durable enough, but the fabric cover might not stand very hard wear -- I am not in the practice of putting my books through the mill. It is good to have it unabridged and well translated which gives it a different feeling from the standard children's version I read over fifty years ago although perhaps not as much as I expected. The translation seems good although the translator sometimes uses an unusual word when a better known word would have been clearer (he uses cachalot when sperm whale would have been better). It might have been better to have had an introduction by a Verne expert rather than the translator (it is nonsense to claim that Nemo does not explain the energy source of the Nautilus). At the same time, I would have liked to know more about the translator's experience of translating Verne. I would have liked more endnotes, especially about the marine life described and the places mentioned (e.g. whether they exist or not). But there are notes and they are generally good if brief. Even more essential would have been modern maps of the voyage and I am surprised this was not done (there is a reproduction of a map of the first part of the voyage from the period but it is hard to read and there is nothing for the second part). All in all, this is an excellent edition of 20,000 Leagues and well-priced.
