Coghlan's Fireside Story Dice

The Reasonable Reviewer family loves telling stories and games. When the two get put together, magic happens.Atlas Games released its Story Telling game back in the 1990s, and it was a lot of fun. Then, Story Cubes and all the expansions came in the early 2000s.These Fireside Story Dice are nice successors to the storytelling game lineage.There are twelve dice: a blue (setting) die, five orange (objects) dice, two green (general activities) dice, two yellow (feelings) dice, and two red (specific action) dice.We played with a mixed kid and adult group. The youngest ones lined up the cubes to tell a story, and the older, experienced storytellers used the dice as a general guideline with lots of embellishment.This is a wonderful toy to encourage creativity and provide fun, bonding activities for parents, grandparents, and kids.I give this story dice set my highest recommendation.

I use these for clarification of my tarot cards and they work very well they come in a nice tin they seem to be indestructible and I can see these being great for family fun.

Was afraid G-kids might be getting too old for this (11, 13), but they took to them immediately. Much laughter as you see players' (re?-)interpreting icons to fit into their narrative. Our kids even created competition by adding timed play.

nice game if you enjoy making up stories around the campfire.

My students love these, and they are a great way to get them telling stories!

Fun game but, the dice are very small

This are great to get my cub scout's minds working on story telling. There are so many ways you can distribute them and change up how your store evolves or have them come up with 1-2 line stories.
