I hate posting a bummer of a review because I adore new publications and celebrate new authors. These comments are only my own take on this book and I hope you completely disagree, purchase it and get great use out of it.I'm disappointed because I don't see a single project I'd do. The prettiest one to me is on the cover. But this project is a pinkeep and I find the instructions for making it up a bit confusing. The project I would most likely do is the Spring fob trio including a biscornu, pincushion and scissors fob. Nice matching set.The author includes all the basics about blackwork including a brief history, explanation of tools and materials, stitch guide and techniques. However, the 3 dozen circles of patterns is impossible to follow because the grids are too itty-bitty. Finally, the only floss listed is "Le Fil Atalie" with no numbers but only shades. Where do I get those? I love this book. Very different designs using traditional stitches.

Bought as a gift. Looks very detailed. Nice pictures

I sent this back as it wasn’t my cup of tea. I’m sure if I did this sort of embroidery it would be ok.
