Amazing quality at this price point
I built a maple syrup evaporator out of a used 270 gal oil tank. With the design I used the door and chimney both mount on curved parts of the tank. For the chimney this is no problem, but the door is flat. You can never get the curved portion of the tank perfectly flat so inevitably you use the bolts and door frame to pull the tank metal into the intended plane. The casting is strong enough to do this as long as you take your time and don’t push your luck too far. The included bolts are probably fine for a standard barrel stove, but they are made with very soft steel so don’t expect to torque them much without stripping the Phillips.

Purpose
We attached this to a steel barrel. We created a burning stove for the purpose of boiling sap. This works great for its purpose. We will be getting another one for next year!

Very happy
Quality metal installation was easy. 30 gal barrel leg are slightly off but you wouldn’t know unless you put them on fit perfectly on 50 gallon

Use a firepit or buy a real stove
I ordered the more expensive version of this kit and received the cheaper version, which was replaced by the seller for the correct one shortly after discovering this. The seller was courteous and prompt with replying back to me.As far as the product, both kits are identical except for the decoration on the door- so if you are really wanting one of these (you don't) get the cheap one. Even though this one is twice as expensive, the fitment is not very good (both are made in China). Fitment issues include:1) door does not seal even when latched and there is a visible gap which allows smoke to bellow out through the front of the stove. The front plate also does not seat well with the barrel top even when the hardware is fully snug. I only received one "spiral hook door opener"... the door is designed for two. And finally, the door is really small compared to the barrel which makes feeding the fire and scooping out ashes more difficult than it needs to be (imagine having a microwave you could walk into but the door only allows you to stick one hand in at a time). If you want your working space to smell strongly like campfire and be full of smoke, this stove will work for you.2) the casting of the feet does not mate with the curve of the barrel, I used a 50 gallon drum and the feet are too flat to sit flush. It is possible to tighten the screws enough to get the barrel to bend to the feet, but the screws will strip/snap if tightened with too much gusto (I work with a lot of hardware regularly, the hardware supplied with the kit is not good quality).3) the flue fitting does not sit flush to the barrel or seal very well, so smoke will escape around the ring. I am going to try some fireplace gasket around the door and flue (and barrel top) to rectify this, but this really should have come in the kit for the price and the fact that this is a stove "kit".4) the double barrel kit requires buying a length of flue and cutting it down to a few inches to mate the barrels together...WHY WOULDN'T YOU JUST DESIGN AND SEND A FITTING THAT DOES THIS INSTEAD? Don't know if you've priced chimney flue, but it is expensive enough to make you question cutting a few inches off and throwing away the bigger useless chunk (they are designed to slip together so one end is smaller). If you are really wanting a stove for anything that is nicer than a shed that has plenty of ventilation, get something else. If you are handy enough to assemble this contraption, you could build one yourself... or better yet just flip the barrel upright, poke some holes in the bottom of it and fill with wood and save yourself the money. The seller is great, the product is not. Whomever designed this has never used a fireplace, possibly never seen a fire in real life.

I'm in my eighth year now with fantatic result.
This kit is designed for the handy, so keep that in mind. I felt after my eighth year of great performance that I should give it a good review.
